THE CHOSEN DAILY DEVOTIONAL...THEME: UNFORGIVENESS IS A BARRIER TO JOY

Image
THE CHOSEN DAILY DEVOTIONAL... DATE: Friday, January 19 , 2018. TEXT: Matthew 18: 21-35 THEME: UNFORGIVENESS IS A BARRIER TO JOY MEMORISE: “14 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man. 15 shall see the Lord: Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled.” ( Hebrew 12:14-15) MESSAGE:  Unforgiveness is a trap that the devil is using to ensnare many Christians today. It is true that many people have been offended in unimaginable ways. For example, some have had their reputation soiled by the lies of others which cause untold heart break and shame. Others have had their life savings stolen or defrauded by people they trusted and are now living in penury and suffering.  Others have been denied critical help from people that could easily have given them that life saving help in time of need while others still have suffered many losses...

THE CHOSEN DAILY DEVOTIONAL...THEME: CONTENTMENT BRINGS JOY

Image
THE CHOSEN DAILY DEVOTIONAL... DATE: Thursday, January 18 , 2018. TEXT: Philippians 4:11-13 THEME: CONTENTMENT BRINGS JOY MEMORISE: “But godliness with contentment is great gain.” (1 Timothy 6:6) MESSAGE:  Many people are not content with their situation and circumstances. It is important that we define what we mean by contentment in this context. Contentment means being grateful and appreciative of what we have been given. Acontented person is joyful and has serenity even when things may not be going his or her way. Contentment does not mean that you should not aim for a higher level or strive to rise above your present circumstances and improve your lot in life. You can always aspire and seek progress without being discontented and disgruntled. Lack of contentment is evident in the life of a Christian who is always prone to murmuring and complaining. Just like the Israelites of old who always complained and murmured even after receiving from God, a discontente...

THE CHOSEN DAILY DEVOTIONAL...THEME: WAIT FOR GOD'S TIMING

Image
THE CHOSEN DAILY DEVOTIONAL... DATE: Wednesday, January 17 , 2018. TEXT: Psalm 40:1-4 THEME: WAIT FOR GOD'S TIMING MEMORISE: “For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.” (Habakkuk 2:3) MESSAGE:  One Christian virtue we must all learn to cultivate is patience. Impatience has led many to go astray and end up in sorrow. As human beings, especially these days where we live in a culture of instant gratification, it is difficult to wait for unspecified amount of time for God to answer our prayers. We want it now without delay and tend to get discouraged when we don't see any signs of it coming to pass soon. This in turn causes sorrow and depression. It is important for us to know that God's way are not our ways neither does His timing always align with ours. He will not give you something until He knows that you are ready for it. Sometime...

THE CHOSEN DAILY DEVOTIONAL... THEME: EXPERIENCE THE JOY OF GENEROSITY

Image
THE CHOSEN DAILY DEVOTIONAL... DATE: Tuesday, January 16 , 2018. TEXT: 2 Corinth 9:6-10 THEME: EXPERIENCE THE JOY OF GENEROSITY MEMORISE: “I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.” ( Acts 20:35) MESSAGE:  There is joy in serving others. When Jesus came to the world, He derived joy in obeying God and going around and doing good for humanity. He went around preaching the gospel and healing the sick and broken hearted.  There were times that He forgot to eat and His disciples had to urge Him to rest and eat. His reply was that doing the will of His Father was bread for Him. This goes to show that He found joy and fulfilment in being a blessing to others. As true disciples of Christ we should follow in His example. When God blesses you, He does not mean it for you to enjoy the blessing alone. He expects th...

THE CHOSEN DAILY DEVOTIONAL...THEME: GUARD YOUR HEART

Image
THE CHOSEN DAILY DEVOTIONAL... DATE: Monday, January 15 , 2018. TEXT: Matthew 15:16-20 THEME: GUARD YOUR HEART MEMORISE: “A wise man's heart is at his right hand but a fool's heart at his left.” (Ecclesiastes 10:2) MESSAGE:  The heart is the most important part of the human body. Once the heart stops beating, life ceases and it will be the end of the person's physical existence. Likewise, in spiritual terms the heart is also very important. The Bible tells us that the heart is where the issues of life flow from. Our diet affects the condition of our physical hearts. If you eat healthy nutritious whole foods your heart will be in good condition and it will serve you well.  On the other hand if you eat junk processed foods all the time, your heart will be adversely affected and may give up functioning prematurely. It has been scientifically proven that consistently eating fruits and vegetables on a daily basis can reverse heart disease witho...

THE CHOSEN DAILY DEVOTIONAL...THEME: GOD ANSWERS PRAYERS

Image
THE CHOSEN DAILY DEVOTIONAL... DATE: Sunday, January 14 , 2018. TEXT: Matthew 7:7-11 THEME: GOD ANSWERS PRAYERS MEMORISE: “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.” (Philippians 4:6) MESSAGE: The first thing a new comer sees when they first come to The Lord’s Chosen is a sign over the pulpit that boldly proclaims that 'The God of Chosen Answers Prayers'. Many Christians today do not believe this assertion to be true. They have prayed over a particular issue for years and have not received an answer. They have lost faith and believe that the Bible is just a fairy tale. They don't believe in miracles even when they hear of such. They believe that most are staged or at best a product of 'juju', black magic or demonic influences. This is ironic because this means they believe in demons but not the power of God! Unfortunately, the state of many c...

THE CHOSEN DAILY DEVOTIONAL..THEME: SPREAD THE GOOD NEWS

Image
THE CHOSEN DAILY DEVOTIONAL... DATE: Saturday, January 13, 2018. TEXT: John 4: 7-39 THEME: SPREAD THE GOOD NEWS MEMORISE: “And He said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” ( Mark 16:7) MESSAGE:  When you experience the goodness of God that makes for joyful existence, you are obligated to spread the good news to others so that they too can come in contact with the truth and experience a turnaround in their situation. It is an act of selfishness when you do not share your testimony with others. There are many examples in the Bible where people that had an encounter with Jesus ran to tell others about their experiences and by so doing drew other people to the Lord. One of such was the Samaritan woman Jesus met by the well. After her encounter with Jesus, she was so excited that she left her water-pot at the well and ran to the city to tell others of her encounter. Her testimony made many Samaritans who were traditionally...

THE CHOSEN DAILY DEVOTIONAL...THEME: IN HIS PRESENCE THERE IS FULLNESS OF JOY

Image
THE CHOSEN DAILY DEVOTIONAL... DATE: Friday, January 12 , 2018. TEXT: 1 Samuel 1:9-18 THEME: IN HIS PRESENCE THERE IS FULLNESS OF JOY MEMORISE: “Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.” ( Psalm 16:11) There are serval things that cannot stand in the presence of God. For example, no unclean or unholy thing can come into His presence.  Another thing that cannot stay in His presence is sorrow. When a child of God comes into the presence of God to unburden his heart, he cannot go back sorrowful the way he came. Remember that He does not call the seed of Jacob to seek Him in vain. Our reading today is a good example for how being in His presence drives away our sorrow and fears. Hannah had been barren for a long time and must have resigned herself to a life without children. While her husband, Elkanah, showed her love despite her inability to bear him children, she was not...

ONLY GOD CAN DO THIS!!! TERRIBLE BREAST CANCER HEALED ON HER FIRST DAY IN CHOSEN.

Image
Doctors and herbalists has failed to proffer solution to this sad development. Rather they subject the victims to chemotherapies and maintenance drugs then they gradually die.  BREAST CANCER is considered one of the deadliest terminal ailment ravaging humanity today.  Doctors and herbalists has failed to proffer solution to this sad development. Rather they subject the victims to chemotherapies and maintenance drugs then they gradually die.  Just like HIV AIDS cancer has been responsible for the death of lots of prominent personalities in our societies.  The poor is not left out too.  Our government has failed to tackle this sad development but God is not silent. THERE IS SOLUTION FROM ABOVE AND TODAY MRS STELLA EGBOM IS TESTIFYING TO THAT FACT. What is difficult with men is very much possible with God. Mrs Stella was diagnosed with breast cancer and the ailments took her to different hospitals in search of soluti...

THE CHOSEN DAILY DEVOTIONAL...THEME: HIS WORD BRINGS JOY

Image
THE CHOSEN DAILY DEVOTIONAL... DATE: Thursday, January 11 , 2018. TEXT: Acts 8:5-8 THEME: HIS WORD BRINGS JOY MEMORISE: “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path” Psalm 119:105 MESSAGE:   The word of God is full of power. By His word he created the heavens and the earth and all that is within it. Everything aspect of nature we see was created by His spoken word. His word also shines light where hitherto was darkness. His word also brings healing and deliverance. We can always rely on His word because it is the truth and it does not lie. For every situation that we find ourselves in and for every question we have about life His word contains the answer. Are you needy? His word says he will provide for all our needs. Are you barren? His word says the righteous shall bear fruit even in old age. Are you sick? His word says that by His stripes you are healed.  Are you in captivity and require deliverance? His word says even the l...

THE CHOSEN DAILY DEVOTIONAL...THEME: STOP LOOKING FOR JOY IN THE WRONG PLACES

Image
THE CHOSEN DAILY DEVOTIONAL... DATE: Wednesday, January 10, 2018. TEXT: Judges 16:1-21 THEME: STOP LOOKING FOR JOY IN THE WRONG PLACES MEMORISE: “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” ( Proverbs 14:12) MESSAGE:  The devil is a very crafty and subtle creature. He uses the illusion of joy and pleasure to enslave many and send them to a place of utter darkness and everlasting sorrow and torture. I pray this shall never be your portion in Jesus name! We must therefore be vigilant and sober at all times and remain in the presence of God so that our joy will not be turned into sorrow. Our Bible passage for today is a good example of how the devil can deceive/lure people into seeking joy in wrong places. Samson was destined from birth to be a great man of God. His parents were told that no razor should touch His head and he was to deliver His people from the hands of their oppressors, the Philistines.  ...

THE CHOSEN DAILY DEVOTIONAL...THEME: WE HAVE MANY REASONS TO BE JOYFUL

Image
THE CHOSEN DAILY DEVOTIONAL... DATE: Saturday, January 6 , 2018. TEXT: Psalm 103 THEME: WE HAVE MANY REASONS TO BE JOYFUL MEMORISE: “Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits” (Psalm 103:2) MESSAGE:  There is a local saying which when loosely translated means 'a thoughtful person will know that he should give thanks'. Many of us are guilty of the sin of ungratefulness. Most often than not, because the 'big' miracle we are waiting for has not yet arrived, we turn a blind eye to all the other things that the Lord has so mercifully and graciously given to us. We sometimes have an erroneous sense of entitlement that makes us believe that God and our fellow brethren owe us something. Let us be clear on one thing: God does not owe anybody anything else. On the contrary we owe God our very lives. There are many mercies we take for granted and tend to think they don't mean much. For example, our health is often taken for granted...

THE CHOSEN DAILY DEVOTIONAL...THEME: OBEDIENCE BRINGS JOY

Image
THE CHOSEN DAILY DEVOTIONAL... DATE: Friday, January 5 , 2018. TEXT: 1 Samuel 15:22-23 THEME: OBEDIENCE BRINGS JOY MEMORISE: “And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.” (2 Corinthians 10:6) MESSAGE:  When God created the heavens and the earth, His plan for us was that we should live in fellowship and harmony with Him and His creation. Man and animals moved freely amongst each other with all of creation submitting to man.  God provided for man's every need. He did not have to toil for food or labour. When He saw that man did not have his own kind to fellowship with, He created a helpmate for him. He also was meant to live forever, Indeed God's plan towards man was good. The only thing man had to do on his part was just to obey and fellowship with God.  Man had only one commandment and that was not to eat from one tree in the midst of the numerous trees that God had planted in the garden. As...
