TEXT: Isaiah 26:11, Acts 13:45 THEME: THOSE ENVIOUS FOR YOUR PROGRESS ARE DOOMED MEMORISE: For he knew that for envy they had delivered him. (Matthew 27:18) MESSAGE:   Envy is the feeling of having what someone else has. Therefore, when a person develops this feeling, it can elicit jealousy. That was the case of the Jews. Envy caused them to choose the death of Jesus Christ a righteous man over an armed robber.  They were so filled with envy of what Jesus had accomplished to the extent that they were ready to condemn Him no matter what. In the same way, the devil is usually envious of what God is doing in the lives of His people. This makes him to always try to attack them in order to rid them of the blessings of God upon them. (1 Samuel 1:27) MESSAGE:   Hannah had been barren for several years before the encounter that led to the birth of her son Samuel. When the child eventually came, she was bold enough to declare that the Lord had given her what she asked of Him. This means that God has the power to give us whatever we ask of Him. Remember, Hannah had visited Shiloh each year; yet, her petition never received any answers.  Along the line, she changed her strategy and made a vow. Hannah was a born-again child of God. (Mark 9:26) MESSAGE:  The spirit in the life of the young man in the above bible place had occupied his body and refused to go. The family had taken him to places where they believed he could get help. But that was not to be.  Even when he brought him before the disciples, they could do nothing to help their situation. It was when the boy's father brought him to Jesus Christ that the demon saw Jesus, convulsed the young lad and somersaulted out of his life.  The disciples were amazed as they asked Jesus Christ why they could not cast it out. Jesus Christ first referred to them as men of little faith before revealing to them that such spirits needed fasting and prayer to be upstaged.

TEXT: Deuteronomy 28:13 THEME: YOU SHALL BE PREFERRED ABOVE OTHERS MEMORISE: Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm. (Daniel 6:3) MESSAGE:  The underlining word in the above scripture is PREFERRED; which means there were many other options, but Daniel was preferred above others. It is certain that those competing or being compared with Daniel had everything that he had. Maybe they all possessed the same level of intelligence, aura, charisma, comportment, commitment, etc. But somehow, Daniel remained the preferred option. Impliedly, there was something that Daniel had which others did not have. And what could that be?  He had an excellent spirit!
