THE CHOSEN DAILY DEVOTIONAL...
DATE: Friday, January 5 , 2018.
TEXT: 1 Samuel 15:22-23
THEME: OBEDIENCE BRINGS JOY
MEMORISE: “And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.” (2 Corinthians 10:6)
MESSAGE:
When God created the heavens and the earth, His plan for us was that we should live in fellowship and harmony with Him and His creation. Man and animals moved freely amongst each other with all of creation submitting to man.
God provided for man's every need. He did not have to toil for food or labour. When He saw that man did not have his own kind to fellowship with, He created a helpmate for him. He also was meant to live forever, Indeed God's plan towards man was good. The only thing man had to do on his part was just to obey and fellowship with God.
Man had only one commandment and that was not to eat from one tree in the midst of the numerous trees that God had planted in the garden. As long as man obeyed, he lived in joy and peace. What brought sadness, death, pain and chaos into the world? Disobedience! Man's singular act of disobedience against the commandment of God is what brought all the chaos the whole world is now experiencing.
Unfortunately, all human beings have inherited this nature of sin from Adam. We are born into sin and have a natural tendency to disobey or do evil. However, the good news is that God has provided a means for us to re-connect to the original nature He intended for us. He sent Jesus Christ to die on the cross for us so we can reconcile ourselves to God and live a live free of sin and condemnation.
As long as we accept and believe in Him, He has provided us with grace to overcome sin. All we have to do is approach His throne of grace each day and ask for grace to overcome sin and obey His will. Examples abound in the Bible and today of those who obeyed Him and received joyful testimonies as rewards.
Brethren, the obedience is a sure way to everlasting joy and peace. Don't be deceived to think that any act of disobedience can give you peace or joy. The pleasure that sin gives is short lived. For true and lasting joy, we must make sure that we remain obedient to His will always.
Worship/praise God and then take the following prayerpoints:
1. Dear Lord give me the grace to be obedient to your word and will in Jesus name.
2. Forgive me Lord, for any time that I been disobedient to your commandments. In your wrath remember mercy Oh Lord!
3. Any enemy action that has been assigned to make me go against your will receive Holy Ghost rebuke in Jesus name.
4. Dear Lord, please give grace to G. O and Mummy in the Lord to remain relentless and strong till your coming in Jesus name.
