Sunday Message: What Matters Now And Eternity... By Pastor Lazarus Muoka

Online Sunday Worship Service Message.

Topic: What Matters Now And Eternity

Text: Hosea 4:6; Ezekiel 18:4; Mark 8:36.

Everyone should give thought to what really matters now and eternity because what matters to people now does not really matter to God and will not really matter in our lives now and forever.
(Mark 8: 36; 1 Cori 15: 19).
Many people are pursuing what does not matter and have ended up losing sight and focus on the things that really matter.
(Ecclesiastes 2: 4-8).

I want you to understand that the reason many people are losing focus on God and Heaven, is because of these vanities of which those that had them in times past eventually confessed that they saw nothing in them.
The Preacher (Solomon the son of David), saw them as vanity because there is actually nothing in them. Yet these are the things people are pursuing in this present world.

Many Brethren who are blessed with all spiritual blessings are also troubled by the vanities of this life. They loose focus of what they have which cannot be taken away from them and complain about vanities.
Many seek vanity and glory after vanity.
(Matthew 24:1).

The Apostles were showing Jesus the magnificence of the temple. Jesus Christ responded and told them a time will come when they will not see anything like that Building in that spot.
Jesus Christ considered those things as vanity. Unfortunately, the Apostles were looking at those things.
Is this not the same disposition of Christians today and unfortunately these things are moving you away from the focus.
I want you to understand that no matter how great those things may be, how wonderful, a time will come and they shall be no more.
(Ecclesiastes 1:2).

Everything in this world is vanity. Whatever you can see, touch or possess as the material things of this life, is vanity.
Why so many people are troubled is because of vanity. The material things of this life .
(John 14:1)

Many are troubled because of vanities. Many are troubled because of the things they will leave behind on earth, of which at any moment they will drop it.
Jesus Christ made us to understand that there is a mansion ahead. There is a mansion above. This should be our priority and focus to ensure we enter our eternal mansion and reign with God forever and ever.
Everyone who is knowledgeable should learn from this message and retrace his or her steps to focus on what matters now and eternity.
(Mark 10: 28).

I want you to understand that the things that disturb you to possess, as long as you be a Christian and in faith, these things belong to you. If you have left all and followed the Lord, leave the rest in the hands of God, he will take care of you.

My friend, hear you the counsel of the Lord. Whatever you leave now shall be given to you a hundred fold and above all eternal life.
There are those that possess many things in this life but it is just for a short while and then they go on to suffer from eternity to eternity.
You should follow what matters now and eternity. Follow after eternal life.

SOME POINTS TO CONSIDER:

1. WHAT MATTERS EXPLAINED AND THE UNFORTUNATE SITUATION.

Once a person is born into this world and attains the age of reasoning, such a person should be taught to be Born-again.
Teach your children when they get to the age of reasoning to be Born-again. It matters a lot.
If you have come to the Age of reasoning, you should seek to be Born-again. It matters a lot now and eternity.
If you are teaching your children how to go to school, remember you are not the owner of their lives. Teach them how to be Born-again. It matters a lot. (Proverbs 22: 6).

Everyone should be Born-again. Everyone should ensure salvation and that you are living the kingdom lifestyle. This should be the most important thing to achieve in life. (Matt 6: 33)
Whatsoever you are looking for, if you are Born-again and living right, God will give it to you.
We must obey the counsel of God. We do not make the first things secondary. First things must be made first in our lives.
What matters now and in eternity is that we must be Born-again and ensure heaven at last in Jesus name.

Once you are Born-again, this is what matters to go on and serve God in righteousness.
You should study your Bible and make sure you attend to Worship Service and fellowship.
You should make sure you study to do the will of God and go on to do the will of God in your life. (2 Timothy 2:15, Hebrews 10: 7)

It matters to fear God and depart from all evil.
It matters to ensure that there is nothing standing between us and God.
It matters now to secure our place in Heaven. To those who are Born-again, it matters to forsake all and follow him and it is profitable now and in eternity.

(Proverbs 3: 7)
Fear the Lord now and depart from evil.

Amos 4: 12
As we are in this world, preparation for the next life is very important. This is because heaven is a prepared place for prepared people. Let us do all in preparation to be there.

(Mark 8: 36)
What shall a man give in exchange of his soul? The entire world cannot purchase a soul. You must therefore not allow the things of this world to distract you.

(Mark 7: 28)
Hence the world cannot buy a soul, it is therefore worth it to abandon everything and follow the world.
Let us follow the world and abandon all these distractions.
Why should we allow distractions to hinder us?

(John 8::12)
Follow the Lord, he will lead you to the light and lead you to heaven.

(Matthew 6: 33)
Remember whatever you want to be in life, you need God. We need to follow God because he alone has the power to make us holy and righteous.

(Matthew 4: 19; Isaiah 44:24)
God will make you what you want to be in life. If you follow God, you shall never stumble.
God will make you rich spiritually in the knowledge of God.

(Luke 10: 39)
Martha was worried about many things. However, Jesus Christ made her to understand that eternal life and salvation of her soul is what really matters.

The unfortunate situation is that many Believers and unbelievers are pursuing after the things of this world as if they will take it with them to eternal life.

(1 Timothy 6: 6)
We brought nothing into this world. No matter your possession or riches, it is certain that we will take nothing out.

(Job 1: 20)
Job was mindful of his soul and was never angry with God.

(2 Timothy 4: 10)
As you can see from the above scripture, it was because of the love for the things of this world that Demas forsook Apostle Paul.

(1 Corinthians 7: 31)
The unfortunate thing is that people are after the glory of this world.

(Luke 12: 16)
If you are among those that are obsessed with the things of this life and you are not rich towards God, know it that all the glory of this world passeth away.

(Ecclesiastes 2: 4)
The Preacher in the above scripture had all things.

(1 Corinthians 7: 29)
Whatever you can do in this world, handle it with a light hand. Do not be entangled.
What an unfortunate situation

2. OUR EXPECTED RESPONSE AND THE REASONS

We all must understand that all the things of this world are vanity and the devil has magnified the things of this world to look wonderful. We must not give him any chance.
You cannot serve two Masters. Let the things of this world pursue us. Let us not pursue the things of this world.
The more a person pursues these things, the harder it becomes. However when you take away your mind from those things and follow after God, those things will pursue after you.

(Matthew 6: 33)
If you follow God without compromise, God will give you all these things. Everything you have is a gift from God.
The things of this world are temporary and shall pass away. It is a Deceiver to as many that are obsessed with them.

We must understand that the things of this world do not really matter to those who are pursuing after God.

(Hosea 4: 6)
It is lack of knowledge that people are after these things and thereby lose their soul.

(Revelations 4: 11)
The things of this world will hinder us from the purpose for which we are converted.
Let us despise them.

(Mark 9: 43)
Whatever that will hinder you from the real focus of heaven at last, cut it off. We must not follow after them and derail from the goal of making heaven.
Remember what matters to Martha does not really matter.
What matters to us, does not really matter. What matters is to serve God and make heaven at the end of this life.

We must confess, repent and receive the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ.
(1 John 3: 8 & 9, Romans 3: 23)
Search your life . I do not know the sin you are into.
Unbelief is sin. Selfishness is sin; Covetousness is sin, Insincerity is sin; backbiting, murmuring, speaking evil of others, these are terrible sin.
Going to native doctors, going for divination and palm reading, all that is terrible wickedness. No child of God does that. If you are into stealing, any form of stealing; stealing from Government, stealing from companies and individuals, that is sin. Amend your ways.
If you are there and you are involved into armed robbery, duping people, do not bring such money to this Church. The unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
If you are among those people that are involved in masturbation, fornication, adultery, homosexuality, lesbianism, abortion, that is terrible wickedness. All those people involved in private or open prostitution, that is wickedness.
Are you into fighting and quarreling? Are you disobedient to your husband or you are beating your wife, that is sin.
(Matthew 19: 4).
Are you into polygamous marriage or you have sent away your wife or you moved away from your husband, that is sin. Marriage is between a man and a woman not women. Marriage is for better for worse. Marriage is until death do us part. Amend your ways.
Are you a woman dressing like a man or a man dressing like a woman, all that is sin.
(Deuteronomy 22: 5; Revelations 21: 8)
People that are into this abominable life, will be cast into hellfire.
Are you among those that take snuff, take cigarette and banned substances, that is sin.
All these people that bleach their body and turn yellow over night, that is sin.
The unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
Confess them and promise God, that you will not continue in that wickedness.
Mercy is waiting for you. The Lord has made provision for the sins that are past.
(John 8: 36; John 1:12; 2 Corinthians 5: 17)
Through Jesus Christ, you have freedom indeed.
If any man is claiming to be a Christian and you are into one form of worship which is not in Christ, that is a faulty Foundation. Give your life to Jesus Christ today.
(Romans 10: 13)
If you are willing right now to go after the things that matter, rise up now and call upon the Lord.
