TOPIC: IT IS TIME TO CUT THEM OFF

Every believer should know that there are many things we left because they are harmful to our faith. We forsook those things when we have our life to Christ. 2 Timothy 4:10, 1 John 2:15-17, 1 Corthians 6:9. 

The things of the world are vanity and not of God; as such we left them behind when we became born again. Those things we have forsaken have not left us, they want to overtake us and take us back to our former life. We should not allow it, cut them off (Exodus 14:6).

We shall not be discouraged or murmur because that will make the devil and their agents achieve their purpose of making you sin. We should violently cut them off (Matthew 11:12).

POINTS TO CONSIDER

1. Warning and the danger.

2. The reason and response.

POINT 1: WARNING AND REASON

We all should know that our Father in heaven knows what is good for us. This is why He is admonishing us today not to play with any thing that will stop us from making heaven.

Matthew15:18, James 4, 1 Peter 1:15, Hebrews 12:14.

Take account of your Christian life and check where there is need for amendment (Matthew7:21, Revelations 21:8. Escape the danger ahead and cut them off because rapture has not taken place.and the grace of God is still available (1 Corinthians 7:29). Handle the things of the world with a light hand. Revelations 1:3, Hebrews 10:37, Revelations 22:12.

POINT 2: THE REASON AND RESPONSE

Psalms 90:12

Check around you and you will see that not all that existed years or months back are still alive. Death could come at anytime, do the right thing today and escape from the anger of God.

2 Timothy 2:16, Psalms 139:23-24, 2 Corinthians 13:5, 1 Corinthians 11:31, 1 John 1:9, Ecclesiastes 3:1

Some people are so given to technological advances, internet and social media such that it distracts them. They can no longer pray or study their Bible. Cut those things off. Mark 8:36, 2 Corinthians 6:2.

Sinners and backsliders should cry unto God in repentance.
