TOPIC: What will God say about you?
MEMORISE: “For I know him, that he will command his children and household after him, and they shall keep the way of the Lord, to do justice and judgement…” (Genesis 18: 19 (a)\
MESSAGE:
There are several instances in the Bible where God expresses His approval of a man. He called Abraham His friend and revealed His plans to him because He (God) found him faithful and obedient. He told Aaron and Miriam that Moses was special because of his humility and faithfulness such that He spoke to him not in dreams or vision but mouth to mouth. He also called David a man after His own heart despite David’s failings. In today’s reading we see God boasting about Job to the devil. He asked Satan if He had considered Job and went on to extol Job virtues as a righteous and upright man who daily sought to please God and ensured that he remained blameless before God. He would even make sacrifices for His children just in case they had unknowingly sinned while they were making merry. He was a person who diligently sought to please God and God took notice. God is looking for men and women that He can trust and even boast of.
If God were to make the same assessment of you today, what would be His opinion about you? Will He rate you in the same level as Abraham, David, Job or Moses or will He say that He does not know you? Brethren we must strive to be pleasing to God at all times so that He can fight for us and bless us. In addition it is only those that the Lord is pleased with that will enter into His rest and make heaven at the end of their lives. Let us therefore press forward with determination to work towards receiving a crown and hearing God welcome us home with the words, ‘Well done, my good and faithful servant.’
Worship/praise God and then take the following prayer points:
1. Dear Lord, purify and sanctify my heart for your use in Jesus' name.
2. Lord, make me a vessel worthy of honour, in Jesus' name.
3. Father, let my ways be pleasing to you in Jesus' name
4. Dear Lord, give my G. O and Mummy in the Lord and their children the grace to finish strong so they will receive a crown of glory, in Jesus' name.
