TEXT: Luke 6: 46-39
TOPIC: IS YOUR FOUNDATION SOLID?
MEMORISE: “If the foundation be destroyed, what can the righteous do?” (Psalm 11:3)
MESSAGE:
The foundation is the most important part of a structure. No matter how beautiful a building may look from the outside and inside, if the foundation is weak, it will just take one terrible storm to expose the weakness of the structure and all of it will come tumbling down. Ironically, nobody sees the foundation of a building. It is hidden deep within the ground but it is the heart of the building. Only the builder knows whether the foundation is good or bad. The same can be said of our Christian lives. What type of foundation have you built your Christianity on? Is it based on the truth or on faulty doctrine? Does your foundation align with the Bible or does it align with the prevailing world culture. Is everything permissible for you? Is there a difference between you and your colleague at work or in your place of business who does not claim to know God? Can people identify you as they did the early Christians in Antioch where they were first called Christians? Only God knows those that are truly His.
Jesus says that if you do not do the things He commanded you to do then you are on a faulty foundation. Any foundation that is not built on obedience and deep knowledge of the word of God will crumble in the midst of the storms of life. A person with a faulty foundation when confronted with temptations will easily fall into sin. Or when faced with life challenges will begin to blame God and fall away from the faith. Brethren, it is import we make sure that we are on a solid foundation lest we will be blown away when the storm comes. It is time to examine ourselves and ensure we are on the right footing with God.
Worship/praise God and then take the following prayer points:
1. Lord, expose to me any faulty and weak foundation in my life, Jesus' name
2. Any fault in the foundation of my life; be repaired by the power of God Almighty, in Jesus' name.
3. Holy Ghost, help me to be build a solid foundation that will withstand all the storms of life in Jesus' name.
3. Make our G. O and our mummy in the Lord to continue to stand on God’s solid foundation, in Jesus name.
