THEME: JESUS IS LIGHT, SO ARE YOU
TEXT: John 8:12
12. Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
MEMORY VERSE: Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth. While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light. These things spake Jesus, and departed, and did hide himself from them. John 12:35-36
MESSAGE:
When God created the heaven and earth in Genesis 1:1-2 the earth was without form, void and full of darkness. In other words, the earth
was in a state of inertia (standstill, no activity) activity came upon the earth when God said in verse 3 "Let there be light and there was light." Today's devotional says Jesus is light... without Jesus in this life, nothing can work. Everywhere will be full of darkness just like prior to creation. But as soon as God said "Let there be light, there was light and as light came, darkness disappeared. Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, is the light of the world. Any man or place that does not have Jesus Christ is full of darkness, and no good thing can happen in darkness.
An example is when you are put in a dark place or environment, you have very limited activity. And so it is dangerous for a man to be in darkness. To avoid this, Jesus Christ the light came into the world to enlighten the whole universe. It will be an eternal mistake for men to continue in darkness while the light (Jesus) is there. So while opportunity still beckons, come to the light through Jesus Christ so that you will have the light of life.
As Chosen, you have received the light, now you are light also because the Master has made you so. What you need to do now is to shine forth so that people will see through you. Anywhere you are as Chosen, shine your light for all to see. When you enter a place, every darkness in such place would disappear because you are light.
No Chosen should allow, unbelievers to mock our God through your action. Therefore you need to show conspicuously that you are a true Chosen whose light is shinning anywhere you go. As the Master has made you light, be light indeed.
PRAYER POINTS:
Pray, as God has made you light, you will be light indeed.
As the light of Christ, pray that you will never walk in darkness.
AMEND YOUR WAYS: If you are not born again you must do something as a matter of urgency. He that commits sin is of the devil (1 John 3:8). If you are into lying, cheating, bitterness, keeping malice, pride, manifesting anger, quarreling, unforgiveness, hatred, envy, contention, strife, gossiping, taking or giving bribe, selfishness, kidnapping. If you are into masturbation, fornication, adultery, prostitution, abortion, lesbianism, homosexuality, you need to repent. Are you into idolatry, do you make or use charms, rituals, bow down to images, Are you into occultism? Do you smoke cigarette, cocaine, heroine? Are you lusting, covetous, alcohol drinking, divorcee or into worldliness?, you must stop bleaching your body, or painting your lips, eyes, fixing attachments, weave-on, earrings (Gen 35:2-4) Are you one of those that put on nude dresses, short skirts, transparent dresses to seduce (A seducer is not a Christian) do you wear trouser as a woman? Repent and give your life to Jesus Christ.
LET'S PRAY: If you want to give your life to JESUS pray this short prayer with me: Almighty God, I come unto you in the name of Jesus. Father I confess that I am a sinner. All my sins I confess to you. I am very sorry for all my sins. Lord I promise you that from today I will never continue in them anymore. I believe that Jesus Christ died and rose again on the third day for my justification. Almighty God, use the blood of Jesus to wash my sins away. Lord Jesus, come into my heart, be my Lord and Personal Savior. I surrender my life to you. Cancel my name from the book of death and give me grace to make Heaven. AMEN!
