THEME: OFFENCES MUST SURELY COME
TEXT: Matthew 18:7
7 Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!
MEMORY VERSE: For there must be also heresies among you, that they which are approved may be made manifest among you. 1 Corinthians 11:19
MESSAGE:
they come, it will not be strange to us. Serving God is not a bed of roses because in the process, one might encounter road block. When such obstacle comes, you don't complain. The people that ran this race before us and even the apostles of old did not find it easy. If they encountered offences and were able to overcome, in the same way, if we endure the offences, we will overcome too. However, some brethren think they can run this race without offences and any small thing that happens to them, they become offended. Once their house rent has expired or children's school fees have not been paid, or hospital bill has not been paid, or they feel a little hungry, they threaten fire and brimstone. Some even go to the extent of leaving the church. I want you to understand that you are not serving man but God. God is not moved by the things that move you. Whatever you do today, God remains God forever. Even if you go out of the church, that does not change God. What He has purposed must stand. If you want to have it your own way and not in the way of God, you will regret it and shout had I known at the end. So whoever you are, understand that offences must surely come, though there is a consolation, that is, ...woe unto the man by whom the offense cometh. "This statement can only benefit you if you are able to overcome the offences but if you allow the offences overcome you and may be you go out of the church or sin against God because of the offences, then it will be of no use to you.
On the other hand, we thank God for the offences because it will prove the genuineness of a brother/sister or otherwise according to the memory verse.
PRAYER POINTS:
Pray that you will not be swept away by offences when they come.
Pray that as offences come, you will be made a better Christian at the end of it all.
AMEND YOUR WAYS: If you are not born again you must do something as a matter of urgency. He that commits sin is of the devil (1 John 3:8). If you are into lying, cheating, bitterness, keeping malice, pride, manifesting anger, quarreling, unforgiveness, hatred, envy, contention, strife, gossiping, taking or giving bribe, selfishness, kidnapping. If you are into masturbation, fornication, adultery, prostitution, abortion, lesbianism, homosexuality, you need to repent. Are you into idolatry, do you make or use charms, rituals, bow down to images, Are you into occultism? Do you smoke cigarette, cocaine, heroine? Are you lusting, covetous, alcohol drinking, divorcee or into worldliness?, you must stop bleaching your body, or painting your lips, eyes, fixing attachments, weave-on, earrings (Gen 35:2-4) Are you one of those that put on nude dresses, short skirts, transparent dresses to seduce (A seducer is not a Christian) do you wear trouser as a woman? Repent and give your life to Jesus Christ.
LET'S PRAY: If you want to give your life to JESUS pray this short prayer with me: Almighty God, I come unto you in the name of Jesus. Father I confess that I am a sinner. All my sins I confess to you. I am very sorry for all my sins. Lord I promise you that from today I will never continue in them anymore. I believe that Jesus Christ died and rose again on the third day for my justification. Almighty God, use the blood of Jesus to wash my sins away. Lord Jesus, come into my heart, be my Lord and Personal Savior. I surrender my life to you. Cancel my name from the book of death and give me grace to make Heaven. AMEN!
