THEME: NO THREAT SHOULD STOP YOU FROM PREACHING THE GOSPEL
TEXT: Acts 5:40-42
40 And to him they agreed: and when they had called the apostles, and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.
41 And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name.
42 And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.
MEMORY VERSE: Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you. Matthew 5:11-12
MESSAGE:
Acts of the Apostles was written because the apostles acted. And all through the Acts of the Apostles, the apostles did not stop to preach the gospel. Even when there was great persecution in the church in Acts 8:1, the brethren scattered. I thought their scattering was for them to go and hide but on the contrary, they went everywhere preaching the gospel Acts 8:4. What is this telling us? This is telling us that we need to go everywhere and preach the gospel.
There are many atrocities in the world today than when the apostles were around. That is why we need to be diligent in preaching the word so that we can reach more people especially as our ministry is worldwide ministry. Let nothing stop you. What to eat, drink, wear etc should not stop you. Wife, children, husband, family, work, money, etc should not stop you.
Persecution, should not stop you. What the apostles of old were doing was if they were persecuted in one city, they would run to another city and continue their preaching there. There is no where in this nation we have experienced the kind of persecution the apostles passed through, yet they continued. Please you should not allow anything to hinder or stop you from preaching the gospel. The world is asleep. Let your preaching awake them. From now let everywhere be on fire by your preaching.
At a stage, they said of the apostles of old, these men that have turned the world upside down have come here too. Let such statement be said of chosen people. God will be happy with us if such statement is made of us. Therefore as you go through this devotional today, get provoked and let the fire of preaching be rekindled in your life like never before.
PRAYER POINTS:
¶ Pray that no amount of persecution will stop you from preaching the gospel.
¶ Ask God to empower you to overcome weakness and distractions to preaching the gospel.
AMEND YOUR WAYS: If you are not born again you must do something as a matter of urgency. He that commits sin is of the devil (1 John 3:8). If you are into lying, cheating, bitterness, keeping malice, pride, manifesting anger, quarreling, unforgiveness, hatred, envy, contention, strife, gossiping, taking or giving bribe, selfishness, kidnapping. If you are into masturbation, fornication, adultery, prostitution, abortion, lesbianism, homosexuality, you need to repent. Are you into idolatry, do you make or use charms, rituals, bow down to images, Are you into occultism? Do you smoke cigarette, cocaine, heroine? Are you lusting, covetous, alcohol drinking, divorcee or into worldliness?, you must stop bleaching your body, or painting your lips, eyes, fixing attachments, weave-on, earrings (Gen 35:2-4) Are you one of those that put on nude dresses, short skirts, transparent dresses to seduce (A seducer is not a Christian) do you wear trouser as a woman? Repent and give your life to Jesus Christ.
LET'S PRAY: If you want to give your life to JESUS pray this short prayer with me: Almighty God, I come unto you in the name of Jesus. Father I confess that I am a sinner. All my sins I confess to you. I am very sorry for all my sins. Lord I promise you that from today I will never continue in them anymore. I believe that Jesus Christ died and rose again on the third day for my justification. Almighty God, use the blood of Jesus to wash my sins away. Lord Jesus, come into my heart, be my Lord and Personal Savior. I surrender my life to you. Cancel my name from the book of death and give me grace to make Heaven. AMEN!
