TEXT: 1st Corinthians 15:19, Acts 5:41, 1st Corinthians 7:29-30

TOPIC: WHAT GIVES US JOY AND SATISFACTION

      

        Every believer should know that our joy and satisfaction shouldn't be on  earthly things or earthly glory. The reason being that the world will surely pass away and its glory(1st Corinthians 7:29-30.) 

Whatever is in this would is temporary. No one should be deceived with earthly gain because no one can carry anything out of this world (1st Timothy 6:6-7). We should see the things of this world with the right perspective. We did not come with them and so we cannot carry them out. We should understand that the things of this world are distractions and are hindrances to the Christian growth and eternal glory.

POINT 1: THE REASONS AND JOY OF TRUE BELIEVERS

           

       Because of the trend of this last days, many have departed from the true Christianity . Many have left what matters to non essentials, many are pursuing shadows than reality (2nd Timothy 3:1-4).

 We are in the last days, many are departing from God and are following the doctrines of the Devils and are lovers of the world. Some rejoice and are satisfied because they have money, because they have possessions, because they are married, because they have children or because they are in a high position. If any of these things are the source of your joy or satisfaction as a Christian, then it is a false joy ( 1st Corinthians 7: 29). 

 The joy and satisfaction of a true believer is sanctification, purity, holiness, having God's love and charity in your life, loving one another. Make sure you are not among those who have joy for earthly things and its glory (Matthew 5:3-10)(1st Corinthians 13:1). 

If there is anything that can give us satisfaction, it is godly Love. We should find satisfaction in doing the perfect will of God at all times. Also when we win souls to the kingdom, it constitutes the satisfaction of a believer. So eternal joy and satisfaction comes from doing the will of God, serving Him with all our heart and loving one another.

POINT 2: OUR EXPECTED RESPONSE AND THE EFFECTS

       

        Everyone must make a true amendment as we run this race. We should renounce all those things that are worldly, that give us temporary joy. We should not allow those things that hinder our spiritual growth. 

Those things are our big enemies and can hinder you from making the rapture of the saints( Matthew 13: 1-9)( Matthew 13: 18- 23). We must not start in the spirit and end up in the flesh. We should see earthly things as secondary things and that they will surely pass away( Galatians 3: 1-6). Let us walk in the spirit and go after the things of the spirit. We must seek to be pure, holy and obey God's Will( Exodus 19: 4-5)( Matthew 5:6). 

Let's go after what matters. Let's hunger and thirst for righteousness (Acts 4:8).Seek to be filled with the Holy Ghost and all the fruits of the spirit( Acts 4: 31)(Acts 2:4)( Ephesians 5:18).

If you are following Jesus Christ and are filled with the Holy Spirit, you will be filled with joy. Follow Jesus to be crucified like Him so that many souls will be won into the Kingdom( Philippians 1:11)(Galatians 5: 22-23)( Colossians 1: 9-12). 

When you are truly following the Lord, you will grow in knowledge and righteousness. Let's make sure to go after what truly matters( Romans 14 :17-19). The things of this world for a real child of God doesn't constitute all joy. Obeying the totality of the word of God makes for the real joy and satisfaction(Deuteronomy 28:1).

 If you keep on pursuing the things of the world, they will run away from you and you will miss the world, they will run away from you and you will miss the road(Matthew 6:33).  Ensure the presence of God in your life and be a holy person and the Lord will be with you and take away problems from your life(Exodus 23: 25-27). 

Whenever we do the will of God, we shall inherit His promises and be blessed (Matthew 5: 3-12) .Your joy and satisfaction shouldn't be on earthly glory but on the spiritual glory( Philippians 2:17)(1st Thessalonians 2:19)( Hebrews 12:1-2)(2nd Corinthians 7:7).

Let our joy be that our members are growing in holiness and righteousness and that we are winning souls(Philippians 4: 8-10)(2nd John 1:4)( Galatians 13:6)( Matthew 18:13)( 2nd Corinthians 1: 12-14). Let's work towards ensuring that we all make Heaven at last for that makes for the real joy and satisfaction(Colossians 3:1).Let's seek for the things that are above not the things on earth and we shall be blessed. AMEN!!!.
