REMEMBER MERCY OH LORD!- SUNDAY MESSAGE

LAST SUNDAY MESSAGE IN THE MONTH OF MERCY.

TEXT: Habakkuk 3:1-2, James 2:13.

TOPIC: REMEMBER MERCY OH LORD!

Brethren, maybe you have been going through life adversity for a long time, or you have discovered that there is a danger ahead of you, it could be that nothing works for you. I don’t know the situation that you are going through now, judgment are roaming around you, and when you take note you discover that you have offended God too much. You may have committed abortion, gone into adultery and fornication, all these things may have made God to hide his face from you and none of your prayers are being answered. If that is the situation, I want you to understand that it is only by the mercies of God; by the mercy of God that his  judgement for you will be cancelled. Our prayer today shall be "God remember mercy"

POINT ONE: THE EXAMPLE AND REASONS.

Many have offended God in the time of old and have suffered the consequences. The children of Israel offended God and Moses but they pleaded for mercy and God harkened to them and forgave the children of Israel their sins. Numbers 14: 1-3, 10-20.

The children of Israel also suffered for years when they offended God again. Judges 3: 6-9, 12-15, Judges 4:1-3, Judges 6:1-10, Judges 10:7-8, Judges 13:1; and God has always been forgiving them. So many of us are like the children of Israel, we never stopped to ask why we are not prospering, God have brought you here to understand the root cause of your problems and the way of escape from them. As long as you repent and cry for mercy, mercy will follow you today. God forgave the children of Nineveh after they have prayed and fasted in repentance from their sins; Jonah 3:1-10. Likewise, Jonah was running away from the message of God and he(God) arrested him with a fish and when he cried and repented, God also delivered him from the belly of the Fish. Jonah 2:9-10.

Our God is a merciful God, and that's why David always approach God for mercy Psalm 51:1-10, Psalm 56:1-2, 57:1, 67:1, 40: 1- 2. God will show mercy to you because he delight in mercy. Micah 7:18, Lamentation 3:22 - 23.

POINT TWO: OUR RESPONSES AND BENEFITS.

No matter your evil in the past and the consequences of sin in your life; be it impotency, infertility, terrible signs of God judgement such as broken home, I don’t know what you’re going through. What you are going to do is to cry out to God to remember mercy, repent of your sins and confess them to God and you will go home with joy, that judgement will be cancelled. Habakkuk 3:1 -2.
As you do so, our God will bless and show you mercies in Jesus name Amen.
