THE CHOSEN DAILY DEVOTIONAL…

TEXT: Matthew 5:13-16

THEME: LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE

MEMORISE: And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. (John 1:5)

MESSAGE: 

The lifestyle of every true believer is the manifestation of the light of God abiding in that person. We are in the world, but not of the world. 

Therefore, it is expected of every true believer to live the lifestyle of the kingdom of God which radiates in the form of holiness. The world around us is shrouded in darkness and our light opposes sin in its entirety. Whenever there is darkness around, light will illuminate that environ to show that darkness cannot comprehend light. 

Every true believer is light in the midst of this crooked and perverse world. As such, our lifestyle should be in conformity with holiness. Sinners around us are watching and observing the way we live our lives. So, as a believer you should be mindful of your actions, words, character and attitude. If you compromise like the sinners in any given situation, you won't be able to win them over to the kingdom of God. But when you are resolute and refuse to compromise, they will marvel and wonder in awe. By that act alone, you would have succeeded in preaching to them.

Your life should be a light to people around you and as they observe you, they will see Christ in you. As people around in your compound, neighborhood, school, offices and business place, can they see Christ in you? Can they confess and say of a truth, that you are a chosen indeed? Or are you one of those with double identity? Make a thorough examination of yourself. 

The light of righteousness will always reprove any darkness in your life. Jesus says, The light of God is come upon the world, but men love darkness, because their deeds are evil. The world hates righteousness and so they can persecute the righteous and say all manner of ills. Your life should be a message to those around you. So, ensure you to keep yourself blameless and by so doing, you will unconsciously win souls into the kingdom, Let your light shine.

Worship/praise God and then take the following prayer points:

1. Lord, let the light of your presence shine upon my life, in Jesus’name.

2. Every darkness hovering over my horizon; be dispersed by the
strong east wind of God, in Jesus' name.

3. Let the light of God continually shine upon our G.O, Mummy in the
Lord and The Lord's Chosen ministry, in Jesus' name.
