THEME: HUMILITY IS AN INDISPENSABLE PRE-REQUISITE
MEMORIZE: " But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.” (James 4:6)
MESSAGE:
Pride is the exact opposite of humility. Anyone who is proud is an abomination to God. Unfortunately, many have been taken in by pride, thereby making a mockery of righteousness and the word of God. For such people, the God Almighty resists them and they are in danger of losing all they possess to them that are humble. We must not allow our possessions whether it be wealth, academic qualifications, assets, children, husband or wife to make us puff up. Whatsoever we have acquired is the gift of God. No man should boast; for pride goes before a fall. What a man has laboured to acquire in life can be taken away from him because he failed to acknowledge his creator who gave him life and power to get all these things.
The bible tells us that fools make mock at sin. It is sin within that influences pride. Humility is a fruit of the Holy Spirit given to the children of God. Every child of God who has the spirit of God remains humble. No matter the earthly possessions he/she may have acquired, the reverence to God Almighty is certain. Humility brings the presence of God closer to you, even if you have got little possessions, and yet being humble and contented, giving thanks to God, humility make us fear the word of God and obey them. When you are humble you love God unconditionally. Your possessions can never take your heart away from Him. Humility makes the race for heaven very paramount because none of your earthly possession will follow you out when you drop your body. Remain humble to dwell continuously in His glory.
Worship/praise God and then take the following prayer points:
1. Lord, uproot every tree of pride in my life and clothe me with humility, in Jesus’ name.
2. Create in me a clean heart O Lord and renew thy spirit within me, in Jesus’ name.
3. Cast me not away from thine presence O Lord; take not thy Holy Spirit from me, in Jesus’ name.
4. May your humble spirit and abundance of supernatural grace continue to dwell upon our G. O and Mummy in the Lord, in Jesus’ name.
