MESSAGE:
Many people are like Martha, they are engrossed with things that have no eternal value to the detriment of their soul. As Christians, we have the spirit of God that enables us to live right and maintain a healthy spiritual life. Most of the things that have taken over the time of people are meant for fleshly gratifications. The flesh continues to overpower them, because it is nourished above the spirit. For them, they can eat anyhow even while the service is ongoing. They find it difficult to pray, study the word of God, or fast. Are you like that? Many have given heed to distractions around, and as such have no time for the things of the spirit. The bible tells us to examine ourselves to know if we are still in the faith. How can you know if you are in the Lord when your flesh takes precedence over the things of the spirit? So many Christians have been given over to misplaced priorities.
The devil is wicked being, the adversary of mankind, he has ensure that some Christians are kept busy either with their work, family, leisure etc. to the detriment of their souls. Some love these things above hearing the word of God, that they have become so familiar with the word of God or the pastor, these earthly blessings, God gave them to you in other to be closer to Him and not keep you far, we are expected to follow what is needful, which is the word of God, when we are filled with his word and abide in his presence, He makes other things easy to come by. The word of God should take the first place in our hearts, for it is the sanctifier of our minds, which enables us to grow spiritually, for God communicates with man through the spirit. If your spirit man is dominated by the flesh, how can you hear from God? Therefore. return to the Lord's feet and hear the words of life.
Worship/praise God and then take the following prayer points:
1. Every distraction hindering my devotion to the word of God; be taken away in Jesus’name.
1. Every distraction hindering my devotion to the word of God; be taken away in Jesus’name.
2. O God, overhaul me and make me spiritual, in Jesus' name.
3. I pray for unparalleled grace and insight into the word of God to come upon our G.O and Mummy in the Lord, in Jesus’name.
