THE CHOSEN DAILY DEVOTIONAL...
DATE: MONDAY DECEMBER 19TH, 2016.
TEXT: 1st Timothy 6:6, Proverbs 28:11
THEME: BEWARE OF EXCESSIVE LOVE OF MONEY

MESSAGE:

“For the love of money is the root of all evil…..” (1 Timothy 6:10-11)
During this period of the year, many people want to travel home with exotic cars, elegant wardrobe, lots of cash, bags of rice, tin tomatoes, groundnut oil, turkey and other things in order to prove to those in the rural areas that they have arrived. This desire to have all these things increases their aggressiveness to make it by all means. In this wise, they can do anything to have the cash to finance these desires. They can extort, defraud, cheat, dupe, deceive and even coerce people into parting with their money and goods just to have their way. This has landed many of such people in hot soup.

Excessive love of money appears to be the bane of our nation. Today, children in primary school already have an idea what a million naira can buy. Many youths have dropped out of schools to engage in trading because they need quick cash. Charlatans are opening churches here and there because they see it as meal ticket. There is high crime rate, fraud, corruption in both high and low places. The society has become extremely aggressive as the quest to become rich intensifies. To be rich is not a sin in the sight of God, but if it takes the place of righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience and meekness, it becomes a problem. Ensure that your pursuit of earthly acquisitions especially money does not bring you at cross-roads with our God. Your definition of success must not be narrowed down to having money or rather being rich alone. You must exercise utmost care to ensure that you do not fall out of God’s grace because of your excessive love for money.

Worship/praise God and then take the following prayer points:

1. Any spirit of covetousness assigned to derail my salvation, be destroyed in Jesus’ name.

2. By the power in the blood of the Lamb, I overcome every foolish and hurtful lusts assigned to drown me into perdition and destruction, in Jesus’ name.

3. Every spirit of mammon seeking control over my heart; be crushed, in Jesus’ name.
4.Any diversionary spirit assigned against our G. O and our mummy in the Lord; receive rebuke, in Jesus name.
