THEME: HAVE YOU NOT SLEPT ENOUGH?
TEXT: 1 Thessalonians 5:17.
17 Pray without ceasing.
MEMORY VERSE: "1 And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint; 2 Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man: 3 And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary. 4 And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man; 5 Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me. "
MESSAGE:
Though the bible urges Christian believers to pray, many of them are still sleeping - not praying. Some are waiting for who will pray for them. There are others who do not pray until they have problems and then they begin to run up and down.
As believers, we are enjoined to be dogged and persistent in our prayers. Whether we have seen the result of our prayers or not, the expectation is that we must continue praying. That is exactly what the widow under illustration did and she received answers.
What is that situation that has posed like a mountain before you? What is that situation that has persisted over the years? There is no short cut. The answer is persistent prayer, The bible urges you to pray in and out of season.
Sing a few praise/worship songs. Pray and thank God and then ask for forgiveness of sins and take the following prayer points.
Prayer points:
1. Any power working against my prayer life. receive destruction. in Jesus' name.
2. Every power of sleeping and slumbering, come out and enter no more, in Jesus' name.
3. Every spiritual laziness, weakness, lukewarm attitude and non challant attitude, be ousted by fire, in Jesus' name,
