THE CHOSEN DAILY DEVOTIONAL...
DATE: THURSDAY, 25TH FEBRUARY 2016.
THEME: GOD WILL VINDICATE THE CHOSEN, HATRED AGAINST US NOT WITH STANDING.
TEXT: Acts 19:24-26, 28(a).
24. For a certain man named Demetrius, a silversmith, which made silver shrines for Diana, brought no small gain unto the craftsmen;
25. Whom he called together with the workmen of like occupation, and said, Sirs, ye know that by this craft we have our wealth.
26. Moreover ye see and hear, that not alone at Ephesus, but almost throughout all Asia, this Paul hath persuaded and turned away much people, saying that they be no gods, which are made with hands:
28. And when they heard these sayings, they were full of wrath.
MEMORY VERSE: For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. Jeremiah 10:3.
MESSAGE:
Truth is bitter. Of course not many people like bitter things, Chosen stands for the truth and preaches the truth and so not many people will like Chosen. And so you don't expect everybody to like you or your church
How do you expect manufacturers of alcohol, cigarettes, weave-on and attachments, extra finger nails, cutex, extra-eyes, Indian-hemp, images or statues or crucifix, scapulars, ear-rings, jewelleries, bangles etc to like Chosen? How can you like a church that preaches against your business, your source of income? No, it is not possible, so do not be surprised, people will not like Chosen and by extention you, because you are a Chosen.
Just like Demetrius in the text above gathered men of like acts (occupation) and said "Sirs, you know that by this craft we have our wealth he went ahead and spoke so much against Paul and his preaching to the extent that they instigated the people against Paul and his brethren. When they could not lay hands on Paul, they caught Paul's colleagues Gaius and Aristarchus (verse 29) and dealt with them.
People are against Chosen because their source of income is threatened. It is not as if they don't know that Chosen is preaching the truth but if they accept it, how would their business flourish? As Demetrius and his business associates stirred up the city against Paul's preaching so are the producers of cutex, lip-sticks, extra-finger/toe nails, eyes, attachments, weave-on etc are sponsoring gang-up and conspiracy against chosen but I want to let you know that God will vindicate chosen. In fact, He is already vindicating us. Two years ago, nobody wanted to see chosen, even some members stopped coming because of the persecution but today what is happening? God has begun a new thing in Chosen because He has started vindicating us.
PRAYER POINTS:
Pray that no matter what people are doing against chosen, you will never be discouraged.
Pray that truth will be your watch word always.
AMEND YOUR WAYS: If you are not born again you must do something as a matter of urgency. He that commits sin is of the devil (1 John 3:8). If you are into lying, cheating, bitterness, keeping malice, pride, manifesting anger, quarreling, unforgiveness, hatred, envy, contention, strife, gossiping, taking or giving bribe, selfishness, kidnapping. If you are into masturbation, fornication, adultery, prostitution, abortion, lesbianism, homosexuality, you need to repent. Are you into idolatry, do you make or use charms, rituals, bow down to images, Are you into occultism? Do you smoke cigarette, cocaine, heroine? Are you lusting, covetous, alcohol drinking, divorcee or into worldliness?, you must stop bleaching your body, or painting your lips, eyes, fixing attachments, weave-on, earrings (Gen 35:2-4) Are you one of those that put on nude dresses, short skirts, transparent dresses to seduce (A seducer is not a Christian) do you wear trouser as a woman? Repent and give your life to Jesus Christ.
LET'S PRAY: If you want to give your life to JESUS pray this short prayer with me: Almighty God, I come unto you in the name of Jesus. Father I confess that I am a sinner. All my sins I confess to you. I am very sorry for all my sins. Lord I promise you that from today I will never continue in them anymore. I believe that Jesus Christ died and rose again on the third day for my justification. Almighty God, use the blood of Jesus to wash my sins away. Lord Jesus, come into my heart, be my Lord and Personal Savior. I surrender my life to you. Cancel my name from the book of death and give me grace to make Heaven. AMEN!
