THEME: BROKENNESS, A NECESSITY.
TEXT: 2 Thessalonians 2:13
13 But we are bound to give thanks always to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:
MEMORY VERSE: The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. Psalm 34:18
MESSAGE:
Brokenness or sanctification is the second work of grace after salvation. It is a very important experience in our relationship with God. It is preparing and setting ourselves apart for the use of God according to His purpose and design. It is the absence of brokenness that makes many Christians to struggle in their walk with the Lord.
When a Christian is broken, he can hardly hurt a fly, have hot and destructive anger, he or she has no room for retaliation neither can such a person have anything to do with quarreling, fighting or keeping malice and is hardly offended. It should be made clear here that our relationship with Jesus does not stop at accepting Him as our Lord and personal saviour.
It is a relationship that continues daily in the renewal of our mind and allowing the Lord to uproot every Adamic nature of sin in our lives. And so, broken believer allows God to take the center stage in his or her life.
Such a believer does everything to follow peace with all men and is ready to part with anything capable of breeding strife just to allow peace reign.
Are you therefore broken? This is an essential ingredient in our Christian life because without it, the old nature will continue to prevail contrary to the will of God. Our memory verse reminds us that God is always close to the Christian with a broken heart and not the lions, tiger, wolves or other ravenous beasts camouflaging as believers. Therefore endeavour to have this beautiful experience of brokenness and your life will never be the same. Do you get offended easily? Do you want to be begged before you forgive someone? Are you stubborn? If the answer is yes, then you need to be broken.
PRAYER POINTS:
Ask the Lord to give you the experience of brokenness.
Bind every spirit promoting sin in your life.
AMEND YOUR WAYS: If you are not born again you must do something as a matter of urgency. He that commits sin is of the devil (1 John 3:8). If you are into lying, cheating, bitterness, keeping malice, pride, manifesting anger, quarreling, unforgiveness, hatred, envy, contention, strife, gossiping, taking or giving bribe, selfishness, kidnapping. If you are into masturbation, fornication, adultery, prostitution, abortion, lesbianism, homosexuality, you need to repent. Are you into idolatry, do you make or use charms, rituals, bow down to images, Are you into occultism? Do you smoke cigarette, cocaine, heroine? Are you lusting, covetous, alcohol drinking, divorcee or into worldliness?, you must stop bleaching your body, or painting your lips, eyes, fixing attachments, weave-on, earrings (Gen 35:2-4) Are you one of those that put on nude dresses, short skirts, transparent dresses to seduce (A seducer is not a Christian) do you wear trouser as a woman? Repent and give your life to Jesus Christ.
LET'S PRAY: If you want to give your life to JESUS pray this short prayer with me: Almighty God, I come unto you in the name of Jesus. Father I confess that I am a sinner. All my sins I confess to you. I am very sorry for all my sins. Lord I promise you that from today I will never continue in them anymore. I believe that Jesus Christ died and rose again on the third day for my justification. Almighty God, use the blood of Jesus to wash my sins away. Lord Jesus, come into my heart, be my Lord and Personal Savior. I surrender my life to you. Cancel my name from the book of death and give me grace to make Heaven. AMEN!
