THEME: BEWARE, WE ARE IN THE LAST DAYS.
TEXT: 2 Timothy 3:1-5
[1] This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
[2] For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
[3] Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
[4] Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
[5] Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
MEMORY VERSE : Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts. 2 Peter 3:3
MESSAGE:
The happenings in this world is a clear indication that this world will soon come to an end. People are no more afraid of sin and iniquities. There are new dimensions of atrocities being committed on daily basis world over.
There are earthquakes here and there, landslide, tsunami, wars, killings, plane crashes, vehicular accidents, ship wrecks, kidnapping, armed-robbery, ritual killings etc. In fact, they are too numerous to mention.
The Bible says when we see all these things happening, we know that the end is near. It is not only that the end is near, the end is here with us. As the world is trying to contend with one militancy or the other, another one more dangerous will spring up. Formerly in Nigeria, we heard of militants in in Niger-Delta, today, it is insurgency (Boko Haram) in the North. No one knows what will come up tomorrow. It is the generation that men are audaciously fighting God. What made God to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah has been legalized in the USA ' (man can marry man, and woman can marry woman). This is an abomination, yet men do not care. By this, they are throwing a challenge to God and by their action, they are asking - God, what can you do? Don't you think if God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah because of sodomy and He did not destroy the world because of gay marriage, God would be partial and God can never be partial. So we, that are Chosen, who know the truth, we should never depart from the truth. Let us be careful about what we do and be always prepared because the wrath of God can rise at anytime. The activities of the world will tell or show you that we are in dangerous (perilous) time. Therefore, be careful what you do and how you do it.
Today's devotional aims to draw your attention to the realities of life so that you are not distracted.
PRAYER POINTS:
¶ Pray that the evil wind blowing in the world will not sweep you away.
¶ Pray for USA because they have openly challenged God by their evil gay marriage law. Remember Nigeria in your prayer too.
AMEND YOUR WAYS: If you are not born again you must do something as a matter of urgency. He that commits sin is of the devil (1 John 3:8). If you are into lying, cheating, bitterness, keeping malice, pride, manifesting anger, quarreling, unforgiveness, hatred, envy, contention, strife, gossiping, taking or giving bribe, selfishness, kidnapping. If you are into masturbation, fornication, adultery, prostitution, abortion, lesbianism, homosexuality, you need to repent. Are you into idolatry, do you make or use charms, rituals, bow down to images, Are you into occultism? Do you smoke cigarette, cocaine, heroine? Are you lusting, covetous, alcohol drinking, divorcee or into worldliness?, you must stop bleaching your body, or painting your lips, eyes, fixing attachments, weave-on, earrings (Gen 35:2-4) Are you one of those that put on nude dresses, short skirts, transparent dresses to seduce (A seducer is not a Christian) do you wear trouser as a woman? Repent and give your life to Jesus Christ.
LET'S PRAY: If you want to give your life to JESUS pray this short prayer with me: Almighty God, I come unto you in the name of Jesus. Father I confess that I am a sinner. All my sins I confess to you. I am very sorry for all my sins. Lord I promise you that from today I will never continue in them anymore. I believe that Jesus Christ died and rose again on the third day for my justification. Almighty God, use the blood of Jesus to wash my sins away. Lord Jesus, come into my heart, be my Lord and Personal Savior. I surrender my life to you. Cancel my name from the book of death and give me grace to make Heaven. AMEN!
