THEME: TRUST IN GOD

TEXT: Deuteronomy 8:18, 1 Timothy 6:18-19, Proverbs 3:3-5
8:18 But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.

6:18 That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;

6:19 Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.

3:3 Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart:

3:4 So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.

3:5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

MESSAGE: 

"Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy. "(1 Tim 6: 17)

High-mindedness, arrogance, haughtiness and being puffed up are words that have almost one meaning: Pride. This usually happens when people feel that they are rich and on top of the world. One thing they fail to realize is that riches are uncertain. They can be blown away any time. So, it is better and even more secure to trust in the living God because He is the one that gives us all things to enjoy. Whatever you achieve is by His grace and power. Therefore, there is no need of behaving as if your power has provided them for you.

What is the socio-economic status that you are occupying that makes you puffed up and to look down on every other person as if they do not amount to anything? Remember, it is the Lord that richly gives us all things. He can withdraw them at any time it pleases Him. So, do not put your trust in your riches. Rather, learn how to trust the Lord and He will advance you on every side. Maybe you do not have anything yet. But learn to trust in the Lord and you will never be disappointed.

Sing spirit filled songs unto God and thank Him for everything He has accomplished in your life and then take the following prayer points.

Prayer Points:

1. Every spirit of pride and high-mindedness occupying my heart, I evict you in the name of Jesus. Let the spirit of greed, avarice and vain glory depart from me, in Jesus' name.

2. O God, I ask for the spirit of humility, meekness and the fear of God, to occupy my heart, in Jesus' name. I command every spirit of distraction working against my salvation to be uprooted, in Jesus name.

3. I renounce earlier trusts on riches and human connections. I switch my trust and dependence to the Almighty God in Jesus name. By the power and authority in the name of Jesus, I command every previously closed door against me to open. Let the door of favour, connection, breakthrough and success open, in Jesus' name.
