THE CHOSEN DAILY DEVOTIONAL...

DATE: FRIDAY, 18TH DECEMBER, 2015.

THEME: CHRISTIANS HAVE SPIRITUAL RESPONSIBILITIES, HOW DO YOU ATTEND TO YOURS?

TEXT: Acts 12:5-7
5 Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.
6 And when Herod would have brought him forth, the same night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains: and the keepers before the door kept the prison.
7 And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands.

MEMORY VERSE: Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee. Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces. Psalm 122:6-7.

MESSAGE:
Every Christian should understand that he has a duty to the society which he or she must be alive and at alert to fulfill. God has Chosen the Christians as saints or priests who are to act as middle men between God and man. They are also to act as character molders. Their actions are expected to give direction and value to the society. In times of need their action which is dependent on prayers should move the hand of God to action.

In the text above, the prayers of saints led to the divine release of Peter from the prison. As it happened in the Bible days it is supposed to be so now. God has not changed. The society will be better if the Christians understand they have a spiritual responsibility to pray for the people of the world. They should pray for the repentance of all and at the same time pray for the well being of everybody in the society.

In James 5:16, the Bible says, "Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much."

The prayers of the saints, the Christians should be capable of making people repent from their evil ways. The propensity to commit crime in the present Nigeria and the world over is high, the way blood is shed by armed robbers, kidnappers, insurgents, violence occasioned by religious bigotry would have been mild and eliminated if Christians pray enough to God. God has power to intervene and prevent evils that happen in the society today.

Christians are to pray for the peace of the city and the country we dwell in. Christians have the spiritual duty to pray for the sins of the world and for the repentance of everybody. Rapture of the saints is about taking place, it is important we pray for the repentance of more people.
We are working for the rapture of ten billion souls when the population of the world is about 7.5 billion. We need to work and pray hard to meet up our responsibilities. By this we will be fulfilled in Jesus name.

PRAYER POINTS:
Pray that the salvation of other people should be a burden in our heart.

Ask God to help us fulfill the visions and mandates of the ministry.

AMEND YOUR WAYS: If you are not born again you must do something as a matter of urgency. He that commits sin is of the devil (1 John 3:8). If you are into lying, cheating, bitterness, keeping malice, pride, manifesting anger, quarreling, unforgiveness, hatred, envy, contention, strife, gossiping, taking or giving bribe, selfishness, kidnapping. If you are into masturbation, fornication, adultery, prostitution, abortion, lesbianism, homosexuality, you need to repent. Are you into idolatry, do you make or use charms, rituals, bow down to images, Are you into occultism? Do you smoke cigarette, cocaine, heroine? Are you lusting, covetous, alcohol drinking, divorcee or into worldliness?, you must stop bleaching your body, or painting your lips, eyes, fixing attachments, weave-on, earrings (Gen 35:2-4) Are you one of those that put on nude dresses, short skirts, transparent dresses to seduce (A seducer is not a Christian) do you wear trouser as a woman? Repent and give your life to Jesus Christ.
LET'S PRAY: If you want to give your life to JESUS pray this short prayer with me: Almighty God, I come unto you in the name of Jesus. Father I confess that I am a sinner. All my sins I confess to you. I am very sorry for all my sins. Lord I promise you that from today I will never continue in them anymore. I believe that Jesus Christ died and rose again on the third day for my justification. Almighty God, use the blood of Jesus to wash my sins away. Lord Jesus, come into my heart, be my Lord and Personal Savior. I surrender my life to you. Cancel my name from the book of death and give me grace to make Heaven. AMEN!
