THE CHOSEN DAILY DEVOTIONAL...

DATE: Thursday, January 11 , 2018.
TEXT: Acts 8:5-8
THEME: HIS WORD BRINGS JOY

MEMORISE: “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path” Psalm 119:105

MESSAGE:

The word of God is full of power. By His word he created the heavens and the earth and all that is within it. Everything aspect of nature we see was created by His spoken word. His word also shines light where hitherto was darkness. His word also brings healing and deliverance. We can always rely on His word because it is the truth and it does not lie.

For every situation that we find ourselves in and for every question we have about life His word contains the answer. Are you needy? His word says he will provide for all our needs. Are you barren? His word says the righteous shall bear fruit even in old age. Are you sick? His word says that by His stripes you are healed.

Are you in captivity and require deliverance? His word says even the lawful captive and prey of the terrible shall be delivered. Are you worried about the future? His word says that his thoughts towards us are good and not evil to bring us to an expected end. Are you fearful? His word says fear not. There are many more answers and words of assurance that God has made available to guide us through our earthly journey. We only need to search the scriptures and have faith that He that promised is faithful to bring His word to pass.

We should therefore be joyful that for every situation we may find ourselves God has made adequate provision for our breakthrough and deliverance. All life questions can be found in His word. For us to be able to remain joyful at all times we need to make sure that we diligently study His word and make it part of us. When we know God's mind concerning a situation we are better prepared to do His will and face life's challenges with the assurance that He will see us through.

We should therefore let His word be a source of joy and comfort to us. We are fortunate to have free access to His word. In some parts of the world, Bible are prohibited and people have to hide to read it in order not to be thrown in jail. We should therefore be thankful that we can freely read his word. Let His word be your source of joy from hence forth.

Worship/praise God and then take the following prayer points:

1. Lord, give me a specific word that will turn my situation around for good in Jesus name.
2. Let your word shine light into every area of darkness in my life in Jesus name
3. I bind every spirit of doubt and disbelief that will not allow your word to be effective in my life. I also rebuke every sprit that makes reading your word tedious in Jesus name
4. I pray that my G. O and Mummy in the Lord will continue to receive a new word from you for the advancement of the gospel in Jesus name
