THE CHOSEN DAILY DEVOTIONAL…

TEXT: Galatians 6:7

THEME: GOD IS NOT MOCKED

MEMORISE: O God, thou knowest my foolishness; and my sins are not hid from thee. (Psalm 69:5)

MESSAGE: 

It is very important for us to understand the nature of the God we are serving so that we will not fall short of his standards and in the process, miss heaven. God is all knowing, seeing, present and powerful. He created everything we see and don't see. He has always been and will always be. He controls nature and nature is subject to his will. He is answerable to no one neither can anyone appeal His judgment. Great are His mighty works and His ways pass our understanding. He makes the wise to be foolish.

It is therefore foolish for anyone to think that they can deceive God. You may be able to deceive your fellow human beings for them to think that you are an excellent person but God sees through all the pretence. Are you one of those that portray a holy image in church but at home or work you are a completely different person. Are you still engaging in secret sin or indulging in your old lifestyle like drinking and smoking and indecent dressing? 

Do you talk one way in church and another way at work? Do your neighbours, family, friends or colleagues testify that you are indeed a Christian or do they mock you that you are deceiving yourself? Do you think that the God that created your eyes cannot see you even when you hide under the cover of darkness? He created your brain and heart and therefore has access to your innermost thoughts. There is nowhere you can run to in this world that His eyes will not see. There is no sin you engage in that He is not aware of. Your sin will always find you out. You are not deceiving God when you cover your sin or pretend to be what you are not.

 You are only deceiving yourself. God is not mocked. If you are one of those that are living a double life of compromise and you think you are getting away with it, think again. While your fellow men maybe deceived and think you are in good standing, God knows the truth. And at the end of the day that is the only one you are accountable to and who will at the end pass his judgment on you. Is it not better that we make sure we are in right standing with Him before it is too late? Repent now while mercy and grace is still available.

Worship/praise God and then take the following prayer points:

1. I bind and cast into the bottomless pit every sprit of self-deceit programmed against my eternity, in Jesus' name.

2. Dear Father, give me the grace to be a chosen indeed so that I may not be found wanting on that day in Jesus' name.

3. Dear Lord, let your unction upon my G. O and Mummy in the Lord increase and multiply daily in Jesus' name.
