THEME: PRAISE AND THANKSGIVING CAN BREAK CAPTIVITY
MEMORIZE: "I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies (Psalm 18:3)
MESSAGE:
While some yokes and bondage need prayer and fasting before they can be broken, others will give way when we engage in heartfelt praise and thanksgiving. We can see this scenario play out in today's passage where Jehoshaphat commanded the people of Israel to sing praises and God arose and fought the battle for them and delivered them from their enemies. God values praise and thanksgiving because He is worthy of it. He has done so many good things for us even without our asking. Every night the devil and his agents hide under the cover of the darkness to manipulate destinies but God protects His own and we wake up every morning not knowing the battles that have been fought on our behalf. We have food to eat, clothes to wear, shelter over our heads and are in good health. Most importantly He has given us salvation and a glorious future by sending Jesus Christ to die for us even when we were still the vilest of sinners. How great a love! Indeed, He is worthy of praise and adoration.
Unfortunately many of us take His mercies and goodness for granted. All the things mentioned above are not considered as gifts or blessing but rights. I wonder if you will feel the same way when you hear of people who were healthy but died in their sleep, or if you had no clothes to wear, or food to eat, or a place to live. If your health suddenly deteriorates, then you will understand that all the money in the world cannot be compared to good health. Have you bothered to find out why that long awaited miracle has been delayed? You have refused to acknowledge Him for the various blessings He has showered on you in the time past. God is not pleased when we are ungrateful and do not praise Him and give Him the glory only He deserves. This may be the reason He is yet to release you from that captivity you are in now. It's time to get up and praise God and worship Him with all your heart and repent for being ungrateful.
Worship/praise God and then take the following prayer points:
1. I praise and bless your name Almighty God. I thank you for all your benefits towards me, in Jesus’ name.
2. Arise O Lord, let your enemies be scattered, in Jesus’ name.
3. Thank you O Lord for all the mighty blessings you have showered upon the Chosen ones, in Jesus’ name.
4. Thank you for our G. O, Mummy in the Lord, their children and The
Lord’s Chosen ministry, in Jesus’ name.
