THE CHOSEN DAILY DEVOTIONAL...

DATE: Saturday, 8th April , 2017.
TEXT: Exodus 23: 2, Proverbs 1:10, Mathew 7:13-14
THEME: DO NOT JOIN THE MULTITUDE
MEMORISE: “There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death” Proverbs 16:25

MESSAGE:

Our Bible reading for today is very apt for the times we find ourselves into now. Indeed everybody even unbelievers are in agreement that the world is coming to an end. This is because there is so much evil and perversion in the world. Almost all the signs that Jesus predicted that will happen before the end comes are being fulfilled in our very eyes such as wars, famines, pestilences earthquakes, false prophets and persecution of believers to mention just a few. Indeed the kind of abomination that is taking place openly now could not even be whispered in the closet just a few years ago. Evil is being legitimized with purity and holiness being branded as extremism, or at best old fashioned. These are undeniably strange and perilous times.

We believers must therefore be on high alert and not fall prey (Matthew 24:24-25). We should never be deceived into thinking that it is okay to do something that God expressively told us not to do, just because the majority of the world seems to have endorsed it as okay and seem to be getting away with it. Our God is unchangeable. His standards are not lowered neither do they change over time. His eyes are too pure to behold evil. He has called us to be separate from this world. Our ways and belief system must align with the Word of God and not to the world system. For His eyes run to and fro throughout the whole world to show Himself strong to those whose ways are perfect towards Him.

If you are ever faced with a choice between obeying God or the world system, always choose to obey God. We should keep in mind that the journey to Heaven is a narrow path. It will be riddled with trails and temptations. It will not always be easy but He has made His grace available to ensure we overcome. In our weakness, He is made strong. Don’t be discouraged when the world will mock you or persecute you for your faith , for righteousness. Instead, rejoice that you are living a life pleasing to God, the only one who matters. Look unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith and He will see you through.

Worship/praise God and then take the following prayer points:

1. O Lord, give me grace to shun worldliness and the distractions of this present age in Jesus name.
2. Lord set me apart for your use in the name of Jesus.
3. Father, lead me to the paths of righteousness for your name sake in Jesus' name.
4. Oh Lord make the Chosen Ones to dwell in your presence always in Jesus' name.
