THE CHOSEN DAILY DEVOTIONAL...THEME: FEAR THE LORD

THE CHOSEN DAILY DEVOTIONAL...

DATE: WEDNESDAY, MARCH 15TH, 2017.

TEXT: JOHN 15:4-5, Acts 10:38

THEME: FEAR THE LORD

MEMORISE: "And David was afraid of God that day, saying, How shall I bring the ark of God home to me?" (1 Chronicles 13:12)

MESSAGE:

Our God is a mighty and awesome God. Unlike men who can only destroy your body, God has the capability to destroy both the body and soul. Therefore, it makes sense that He must be revered and approached with holy fear. However, many people do not seem to fear God judging by the way they live their lives. On the contrary, the same people are afraid of witches and wizards, occult men, native doctors, wicked men and women. They exercise utmost caution not to have any reason to enter into confrontation with them. Yet, they can afford to treat the things of God with levity or apathy. God is a loving Father; full of mercy and compassion, but yet, a consuming fire. Uzzah put forth his hand to hold back the ark of God and received instant judgment of death. This made David to become afraid of God and he was not willing to bring the ark into his house.

The ark of God represented the presence of the Spirit of God. David knew that one must be in a state of purity to be able to house the presence of the Spirit of God. When the ark was taken to the house of Obededom, it took only three months for God to bless his entire household. If you want the presence of the Spirit of God in your life and home, you must fear God. You must be ready to live a life of purity and holiness for the Spirit of God to dwell with you. Ushering the Spirit of God into your household begins by being born again (Matthew 6:33). Once this is accomplished, you will receive a corresponding power to operate as a believer in Christ.

Worship/praise God and then take the following prayer points:

1. O God my Father, put the fear of you in my heart that I may not sin against you, in Jesus' name.

2. In any way that I have sinned against you and fallen short of your glory; father, behold the blood of Jesus Christ. Show me mercy in Jesus' name.

3. Give me the grace to live holy and righteous, in Jesus' name.

4. Uphold our G. O, Mummy in the Lord and their children in holiness and righteousness, in Jesus' name.
