THE CHOSEN DAILY DEVOTIONAL...

TEXT: Galatians 5:16-25

THEME: MAKE NO PROVISION FOR THE FLESH

MESSAGE: 

"Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul. " (1 Peter 2:11)

The human body has demonstrated ample weakness in the face of trials and temptations. In fact, the flesh is only favourably disposed towards pleasure – eating and drinking and yielding to lustful desires. This is in sharp contrast to the spirit whose demands are purely invisible — righteousness, holinesssanctification,. perseverance, humility, patience, long suffering etc. As a result of the above irreconcilable differences, both can never walk together. The vulnerability of the human flesh is well known by the enemy. So, he always seeks for ways to use it as a weapon against man knowing that it is a struggle to resist pleasures except one yields to the spirit. And of course, the lusts ofthe flesh if not tamed can be disastrous.

Having come to terms with this obvious reality, you must device means of taming the desires of your flesh. Apostle Paul himself says, "I bring my body under subjection" and it paid off for him. Being in the flesh cannot guarantee anybody communion with God. God is a Spirit and those that serve Him must do so in spirit and in truth. An obvious truth however remains that no one can live holy except by the Holy Ghost Himself who is a custodian of holiness. Therefore, you must aspire to live holy through divine empowerment by the Holy Ghost. This can only be possible after you have taken the stand to be on the Lord's side.

Worship/praise God and then take the following prayer points:
1. Every fleshly lusts warring against the salvation of my soul, receive termination by fire, in Jesus' name.

2. By the power and authority in the name of Jesus Christ, I bring my body under subjection, in Jesus' name. My body is the temple of the spirit of God, therefore any contrary power inhabiting therein, receive quit notice by fire, in Jesus' name.

3. Every satanic offer of the devil made to our G. O, our mummy in the Lord and their children as a way to pollute and contaminate God's anointing upon them; be detected and nullified by the blood of the Lamb, in Jesus' name.
