THE CHOSEN DAILY DEVOTIONAL...THEME: WAIT FOR GOD'S TIMING

THE CHOSEN DAILY DEVOTIONAL...

DATE: Wednesday, January 17 , 2018.

TEXT: Psalm 40:1-4

THEME: WAIT FOR GOD'S TIMING

MEMORISE: “For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.” (Habakkuk 2:3)

MESSAGE:

One Christian virtue we must all learn to cultivate is patience. Impatience has led many to go astray and end up in sorrow. As human beings, especially these days where we live in a culture of instant gratification, it is difficult to wait for unspecified amount of time for God to answer our prayers. We want it now without delay and tend to get discouraged when we don't see any signs of it coming to pass soon. This in turn causes sorrow and depression.

It is important for us to know that God's way are not our ways neither does His timing always align with ours. He will not give you something until He knows that you are ready for it. Sometimes it is not God that is delaying our answers but rather our disobedience and unwillingness to follow His leading are what delay our breakthrough.

However, sometimes even when we are faithfully serving Him, He might decide to delay our answers till the timing is right. We have to trust that our Heavenly Father knows what is best for us at any given time. In addition, because He knows the future and is privy to knowledge we don't know, His timing will be in our best interest,

Impatience can only lead us into sorrow and trouble. When we try to run faster than God we only end up at a dead end or in a ditch. Trust Him and His judgment that He has our best interest at heart. As a parent, you will not buy a car for your ten-year-old no matter how much you love him and can afford to do so. You know that giving him such a gift at that age will lead to his untimely death because he does not yet have the capacity to make the right judgement behind the wheels at that tender age.

Just as we know when it is the right time to give our children certain gifts, God knows when it is the right time to give us our desired breakthrough. Be patient. As long as you are serving Him in truth and spirit be rest assured that God will make sure He fulfils His promise concerning you in due course.

Worship/praise God and then take the following prayer points:

1. Holy Spirit, grant me patience as I wait upon you for the fulfilment of your word in my life, in Jesus name.

2. Dear Lord, let me not stray away from your presence or look for short cuts that will truncate my walk with you, in Jesus name.

3. Oh Lord, grant my G. O and Mummy in the Lord peace of mind and divine patience throughout their walk with you, in Jesus name.
