THE CHOSEN DAILY DEVOTIONAL…

DATE: Wednesday November 22nd, 2017.
TEXT: 2 Corinthians 10:4-6
THEME: THE WEAPONS OF OUR WARFARE
MEMORISE: No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier. (2 Timothy 2:4)

MESSAGE:

Every Christian must understand that we are engaged in spiritual warfare. This warfare is not fought with physical armaments.

We are at war with the world of sin, Satan, his agents and enemies of the gospel, and as such we must always be vigilant following the Lord to ensure that we are not captured by the enemy.
The moment anyone accepts Christ as his/her Lord and personal Saviour, such person enters into this spiritual warfare with the enemies of righteousness. When one has this understanding he/she will be mindful in words, actions and deeds knowing full well, that there is an ongoing spiritual warfare with the enemy the devil and all his associates.

The scripture urges all believers not to allow any form of distraction around to sway your attention from this battle. A soldier in a battlefield is always alert and avoids every form of distraction so as not to fall prey to the enemy.

You owe it a duty to examine your amour at all times, for it is the determinant that you will overcome. Any soldier that has incomplete armour faces threat of being killed.

The weapons of our warfare are used for both offensive and defensive reasons. We engage the enemy through prayer, holy living, evangelism, fasting, righteousness, all the fruits and gifts of the spirit because we fight against spirits without bodies. We must connect God Almighty through these weapons to deal with our enemies.

The enemy comes to steal, kill and destroy, but as believers we have the authority to stop the fiery darts of the wicked one. It is warfare of a life time for every believer, because the enemy is fighting to deny us of our heavenly abode and hinder us from enjoying the miniature kingdom here on earth.

Worship/praise God and then take the following prayer points:

1. O Lord, strengthen me to put on thy whole amour, in Jesus' name.
2. By the power of God's spoken word, I resist every fiery darts of the devil, in Jesus' name.
3. Heavenly Father, I pray for higher spiritual empowerment and protection for our G. O and Mummy in the Lord, in Jesus' name.
