THE CHOSEN DAILY DEVOTIONAL...
DATE: Saturday, August 26th, 2017.
TEXT: Ephesians 4:29—32
THEME: LET YOUR WORDS MINISTER GRACE
MEMORIZE: "But I say unto you, that every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. " (Matthew 12:36)

MESSAGE:

The tongue is a little member of the body, yet has the capacity to instill peace or war. Little wonder, the scripture admonished, "The power of life and death is in the tongue." By the abuse of this little member of the body, many have become in danger of judgment. The words you utter have the tendency to do great things in life — good or bad. Words are like seeds sown in the hearts of the hearers. They can heal, anger, strengthen, cause division or bring together. Words are used to express the mind. We cannot see it or touch it; they can only be heard. Many feel they can abuse the privilege of speaking and as such speak anyhow, sometimes deliberately lying without minding the effect of such utterances. But it is not so with a true believer. He/she is very mindful of every word that proceeds from within because the mind of Christ is in every true child of God, for the spirit of God controls his mind and therefore the child of God will not speak anyhow, knowing full well that every idle word will be accounted for.
The scripture is a mirror for every believer in the Lord. Therefore, your words must minister grace to the hearers. We are expected to adhere to biblical instructions with regard to spoken words for it informs us how to use words. Christians can use their words to exhort, preach, rebuke, to communicate with God, to praise and worship God, to communicate with another, and war against the forces of evil. Words are not meant for ungodly communication. We must not copy the style of the world in speaking. We need to guide our hearts in all diligence and let our words be used rightly. For by kind words, we can heal wounded hearts and win souls into the kingdom, to the glory of God.

Worship/praise God and then take the following prayer points:

1. O Lord my Father, I repent from every idle words I may have uttered, in Jesus’ name.
2. Lord, help me to speak alright at all times in Jesus’ name.
3. Father, give our G. O and Mummy in the Lord the power to speak mysteries and to understand deep things in the spirit and continue to confirm their words for the edification of church of God, in Jesus’ name.
