TEXT: Isaiah 49:24-26
THEME: ARE YOU A LAWFUL CAPTIVE?
MEMORIZE: "Shall the prey be taken away from the mighty, or the lawful captive delivered? " (Isaiah 49:24)
MESSAGE:
There are two categories of captives. The first is a person who unknowingly through no fault of his/her own falls into captivity. An example of this type would be a child that was covenanted by his parents before or after birth. The child had no say in the matter. He/she is probably unaware that any covenant was made on his/her behalf. The second type of captive however is the one that knowingly enters into a covenant with the devil. It can be by joining a cult or willing engaging in sin and going against God's command. In this case, such a person can be described as a lawful captive. When a person is a lawful captive, the devil has legal rights to hold him/her in bondage. Just as a criminal deserves to be in prison, so does a lawful captive deserve captivity.
In the same manner, any person who continues to rebel against His creator by engaging in sin despite knowing the truth is a legal captive in the hand of the devil. Are you a lawful captive? Being a lawful captive is a worrisome situation since the devil will use it to exercise dominion over the victim. Does the devil have a legal claim over you because of your sins and so accuses you daily before God? Notwithstanding the captivity over your life, God is telling you today that He is ready to set you free if only you will return to Him. Once you become born again the devil will no longer have any hold on you. This is the time to return back to God today. Only in Him can you find true freedom and peace. Annul your contract with the devil today
Worship/praise God and then take the following prayer points:
1. Every captivity of the devil over my life, be terminated in Jesus' name.
2. Any covenant entered into on my behalf by my ancestral parents, which has made me a legal captive, be broken and annulled, in Jesus' name.
3. Any agreement with the idol spirits of my father's house mortgaging my wealth, riches, destiny and family into devil's hands, be terminated, in Jesus' name.
4. By the power and authority of the Holy Ghost, we lift up our G.O. and Mummy in the Lord above every captivity of the devil, in Jesus' name.
