THE CHOSEN DAILY DEVOTIONAL...

THEME: HOLD ON TO HIS PROMISE

MEMORISE: “And the Lord visited Sarah as he had said, and the Lord did unto Sarah as he had spoken" (Genesis 21:1)

MESSAGE

God is a faithful God. He is not like man that promises and fails to honour his promise. He will do what He says He will do. It sometimes however seem to us human beings that God is taking His time or might even have forgotten that which he promised us. As human beings we want to receive the promises like yesterday. But we must remember that God’s ways are not our ways nor is his thoughts like ours. He is not constrained by time. The bible says a thousand years are like one day. He also is never late. He arrives just in time. And he makes all things beautiful in His time.

Our reading today is about the calling of our father in faith Abraham. God called Abraham when he was 75 years old and promised that He would make him a great nation. In faith Abraham left his father’s house and followed God’s leading to an unknown destination. He believed that God was able to do which he had promised and it was accredited to him as righteousness. However, it took 25 years for the promise of fruitfulness to be fulfilled. During those years Abraham and Sarah must have wondered if indeed they had heard right. At a point they tried to ‘help’ God by having a child through Sarah’s maid Hagar. That plan brought more confusion than it did solution. We should never try to rush or ‘help’ God. Doing so will only complicate our situation.

God, however at His on appointed time, fulfilled His promise. It was at a time when nobody but Him could claim the credit or the glory. He made the impossible to become possible and by so doing gave hope to generations to come that there is nothing that is too hard for Him to do.
What is the situation in your life today that makes you think that the Lord has forgotten His promise concerning you? The God that made a 90 year old woman conceive is still on the throne today. Be rest assured that it shall surely come to pass if you faint not.

Worship/praise God and then take the following prayer points:

1. God of Chosen give me the grace to wait upon your promise in Jesus' name.

2. O Lord increase my faith and make it unshakeable, in Jesus' name.

3. Any demonic agent that has been assigned to block my long awaited miracle receive fire in Jesus' name.

4. God of Chosen please grant the heart desires of our G.O and Mummy in the Lord as they labour in your vineyard in Jesus Name.
