NEW YEAR SERVICE MESSAGE

TOPIC: CHANGING OF THE FILTHY GARMENT
TEXT: Isaiah 64:6, Psalm 102:26-27, Isaiah 61:10-11, Matthew 11:28
As we have been told, today is a special day; a day of changing every filthy garment of troubles, every kind or garment that has been worn-out, which has been constituting reproach and mockery in your life and in the life of your family. The Living God shall change all these garments today, so that you will wear a new and white garment that makes for glory in every area of life, both spiritual and physical, and as your garment is changed, your life will speak and attract favour and blessings throughout this year in Jesus' name (Psalm 102:13, 16-17).
So, for more understanding, we shall consider the following sub-headings:

1. OLD AND NEW GARMENTS DESCRIBED: Psalm 102:26, Mark 2:21
Old garments are used, dirty and unattractive and sometimes smelling; torn and out of fashion. These kinds of garments constitute problems to those who wear them. In our context today, these garment can be likened to those problems you have carried for so many years; those problems that have brought shame, reproach, mockery and hatred from people; it could be sickness, poverty, sin, barrenness, broken home, lack of employment, stagnancy in life, rising and falling and lack of progress in every area; or evil spirit troubling you spiritually and physically. All these could be the filthy garments you have been wearing, but today they shall be changed to new garments in Jesus' name (Isaiah 43:10-13, 19; Jer.32:27; Mark 9:23).
New garments constitutes new experiences and joy, blessing from above and as the Lord visits today, He will clothe you with salvation, deliverance, sanctification, healing, husband, wife, children and breakthrough of every kind in Jesus name (Job 42:10-12). He will clothe you with His glory.
2. THE REASONS FOR CHANGING THEM AND OUR RESPONSE: Psalms 102:26, Matt.11:28
It is never the will of God that you should remain in your old garment (trouble), neither is it His will that you will be lamenting of the enemy’s undue advantage over you (Psalm 94:1-3; 1Kings 19:4); (remember, this is our year of DOMINION BLESSING AND HONOUR ). The Lord wants to change your garments because you must not wear the old garment (old trouble) into this New Year. It must be New Year, New Experience; New Year, New Garment.

The Lord is changing your life for good, so that you will not carry old problems into this New Year, lest you be discouraged and wear-out (Mark 2:21-22). He is putting on you the garment of blessings in this year and this will bring glory and praise to His name. It will also attract favour as well as draw souls into His kingdom.
The angel of the Lord is here to do it for you, so that the enemies will not mock or despise you anymore, and it will be DOMINION BLESSING AND HONOUR galore throughout this year in Jesus name (Zech.3:1-7).
But if you are not born again and you desire that God will change your filthy garment, surrender your life to Jesus Christ and He will change your garment (Matt.6:33, Romans 10:13, proverbs 28:13, Romans 6:23, 1John 5:17a, 2Cor.6:2, John 3:16, John19:30).
Finally, our general response today should be to ask the Lord to change our old garments to new garments (Matt.7:7-8, Isaiah 61:10-11).
