TEXT: 2 Timothy 3:1 - 5, Mathew 24: 3 - 13
In this period, many believers shall wax cold, a period when evil shall be called good. A time when believers shall be opposed by unbelievers. For these purposes this warning becomes necessary, to make sure that no matter what, you will turn to the Lord. So, where ever you are, I want you to understand that this period is now.

1. THE REASONS FOR THE WARNING
(2 Timothy 3:1-5) As we are aware about these prophesy, it is a warning giving to guide believers and for us to be aware of it and not allow ourselves to be a victim. (Genesis 19:17) This is a warning that we should escape to the mountain without looking back, the mountain of consecration, holiness and righteousness. A lot of things are going on now, most of the people are no longer interested in pleasing God but rather pleasing themselves. And because the wickedness of the world is increasing everyday, it becomes very dangerous to the church, believers start looking back and having evil thought. (Mathew 24:9 - 10). I want to let you know, persecution and hatreds against believers will be on the increase, and when these things are happening, you must not be discouraged. In many places now, people are not aiming to go to heaven anymore but discouraging those that are on the path to heaven.
( 1 John 2:15 - 17) I want to let you know that all these things we are running after in this world will pass away, they will not follow us to heaven. So, believers, I want you to gear toward heaven. if you are a victim of all these things (2 Timothy 3: 1 - 5), it means you need to do something about it. (1 Corinthians 7:29 - 31) Time is short, let not those things occupy your heart, the glory of this world will fade away, search your life and do something about it before it is too late. (2 Timothy 4:10). The love of the world will make you to abandon the church and if you are like that, turn back before it’s too late.
2. OUR EXPECTED RESPONSE
Let nobody say the time is still long for it will surely come in the time you least expected it. So, everybody should amend their lives. It's not the will of God for any to perish (2 Peter 3:9). (2 Corinthians 6:2) I want to remind you, now that you are alive and rapture has not taken place, it is now that is the acceptable time. So repent and give your life to Jesus Christ and don't procrastinate for tomorrow might be too late. Remember the warning to churches (Revelation 2:1 - 4, 8 - 10, 12 - 29, 3:1 - 8) Let us take heed of these warning and amend our ways (Revelation 3:15 - 16). One thing that is certain is that if you are a Backsliders and a sinner, you cannot make it when the last trumpet will sound.
CONCLUSION:
For sinners and backsliders, they should repent and give their lives to Jesus Christ; accept Him as their Lord and Saviour (Romans 10:13; Proverb 28:13; John 3:16, 3; 1 John 3:8; 1 John 5:17; John 8:36; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Matthew 6:33; Matt.11:28).
