THE CHOSEN DAILY DEVOTIONAL...

TEXT: Deuteronomy 5:13, 1st Thessalonians 4:11

THEME: WITH QUIETNESS WORK FOR YOUR OWN BREAD

MESSAGE:
“10 For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat. 11 For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies. 12 Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread.” (2 Thessalonians 3:10-12)

God has made it expressly clear that His children must lay their hands on something to earn their own living. Impliedly, you must be engaged in an economic activity that will pave the way for you to be able to take care of your responsibilities and also support the work of God. In spite of this instruction, it is rather very surprising that many believers still do not understand the need to work. As a result of this lack of knowledge, they have become lazy and sit down all day long doing virtually nothing; sometimes depending on the church. It is therefore very important to use this medium to remind every believer that God wants them to be meaningfully engaged in some form of economic activity - not idling away or walking the length and breadth of the church – saluting brethren and sometimes visiting those that are working in their offices and engage them in discussions.

Unarguably, many have the zeal, but without knowledge. Because they do not work, their options become narrowed down to only soliciting for support from other brethren though they have no physical disabilities. The bible says no to this kind of lifestyle. 

So, you must rise up, go out there and look for something to do so that you can eat your own bread, support your family, pay your tithes and offerings and also make contributions towards the gospel by giving your offerings, paying tithes and sowing seeds of faith. Don’t forget, do not take up jobs and businesses that will always keep you away from the presence and service of God.

Worship/praise God and then take the following prayer points:

1. Any spirit of laziness projected/ruling in my life; with the blood of Jesus I render you impotent, in Jesus' name.

2. Father, give me the wisdom and strength to be meaningfully engaged, in Jesus' name.

3. Any satanic road block mounted against my destiny, be removed by the Holy Ghost, in Jesus' name.

4. Any spirit projected to weigh our G. O and our mummy in the Lord down; be uprooted by the Holy Ghost, in Jesus' name.
