THE CHOSEN DAILY DEVOTIONAL...

TEXT: Exodus 34:13, Judges 6:25-26

THEME: THROW DOWN YOUR FATHER’S ALTAR

MESSAGE:

“And Gideon said unto him, Oh my Lord, if the LORD be with us, why then is all this befallen us? and where be all his miracles which our fathers told us of, saying, Did not the LORD bring us up from Egypt? but now the LORD hath forsaken us, and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites.” (Judges 6:13)

Many people are victims of their father’s altars. Those before Gideon whom God had rescued from their bondage in Egypt forsook Him and served other gods prompting God to hand them over to their enemies. They were seriously tormented and they cried out unto God. Gideon had wandered why things were they way he saw them and the angel told him to throw down his fathers’ altars. They were not entitled to God’s blessing, prosperity and protection while those altars were still standing. So, the angel instructed him that the altars must go down and in the night Gideon destroyed the altars of his fathers’ house and built another altar of righteousness for the true and living God.

Our ancestors were busy breaking kola nuts, pouring libation and making diverse sacrifices and washings not knowing that they were raising spiritual altars that will speak against the children born into such families. Based on the agreements and ordinances entered into with these satanic forces, the expectation is that the children born in these families would continue to sustain these idols and deities through different kinds of sacrifices. Failure to oblige causes demons to be assigned to enforce yokes and bondage upon the children in these families. However, the manifestation of Jesus Christ has destroyed all those works of darkness and they are raging. So, you must throw down your fathers’ altars if you are to make any headway in life. Maybe an altar is speaking against your life and destiny and at the same time demanding for sacrifice or ransom or claiming that you or your father owes them. Today, you must dismantle such altar by throwing it down, rejecting it, rebuking it and dissociating yourself from any of its activities.

Worship/praise God and then take the following prayer points:

1. Any altar of the idols of my father’s house working against my life/destiny; in the name of Jesus I throw you down. Be dismantled, in Jesus' name.

2. Any altar speaking against my breakthrough in life, I command you to be silent in darkness, in Jesus' name.

3. Any image deposited in any altar, temple or shrine to represent me, by the power in the name of Jesus Christ, I command you to be broken to irreparable pieces, in Jesus name.

4. Any altar demanding for sacrifices from our G. O, our mummy in the Lord and their children; be razed down by the Holy Ghost fire, in Jesus name.
