THE CHOSEN DAILY DEVOTIONAL...

TEXT: Colossians 2:13-15

THEME: ABSTAIN FROM POLLUTIONS

MESSAGE: 

"But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood." (Acts 15:20)

Pollution from idols/sin can constitute a major obstacle or hindrance against advancement in the life of an individual. History has proven that families where idols were served in the past never did well. Even in families where they are retained, the story is still the same. Therefore, children born into such homes continue to groan under the weights of the consequences of idol worship as they meet stumbling blocks on every path they tread. There are instances where family members living in overseas countries are virtually begging for food and return home empty-handed because of the weight of bondage through idol worship.

The bible warns us about abstaining from pollutions caused by idol worship and other vices such as fornication (sexual immorality) and bloodshed. Fornication and adultery lead to destiny pollution while eating strangled animals also amount to pollution. Blood is the life of anything living. The blood of any animal to be eaten must be removed or else eating the meat without removing the blood amounts to pollution. These are things our ancestors freely engaged in and brought yokes, bondages, curses and pollution upon the destinies of children they left behind. These are issues that many believers today have to deal with having repented from idol worship to the service and worship ofthe one and only true God.

Worship/praise God and then take the following prayer points:

1. Every pollution upon my life emanating from idol worship, sexual immorality or strangled animals engaged in by my ancestors; be nullified by the blood of Jesus.

2. Any pollution upon my destiny through sacrifices offered to gods, deities, mermaid spirits and idols by my ancestors; be cleansed by the blood of Jesus.

Every evil altar raised, hired or contracted to speak against our G. O, our mummy in the Lord and their children; be silent in darkness, in the name of Jesus name.
