Sleeping at a time when they are supposed to be awake, will ultimately condemn them to poverty and lack. A sluggard is a lazy person who sleeps at odd hours. By spending so much time sleeping, it means that the person is extending an open invitation to the spirit of poverty to come and possess him/her.
