THEME: IT IS NOT ALL ABOUT MATERIAL POSSESSIONS
TEXT: Matthew 25:29, Mark 8:36
25:29 For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.
8:36 For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?
MESSAGE:

"And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth. " (Luke 12:15)
God's abundance is not limited to material possessions. Rather, it refers to abundance in every sphere of our lives as Christians. It could be in the area of spiritual abundance, marital, career and so on, but not restricted to material possessions such as cars, houses and other good things of this life. Jesus Christ Himself says in John 10:10 (b), "I am come that they might have life; and have it more abundantly. "
In Him is abundant life; life forever more. Abundance of life in Christ Jesus resulting in life everlasting is more important than every material benefit. Your inability to understand the above fact might lead you into believing that what one possesses is all that matters. That can put a believer's life in jeopardy.
The Bible says, "But godliness with contentment is great gain... " (Read 1 Timothy 6:6-12)
Sing spirit filled songs unto God and thank Him for everything He has accomplished in your life and then take the following prayer points.
Prayer Points:
Every spirit of covetousness working in my life; be uprooted, in Jesus' name. I cancel every snare of the fowler, foolish lusts, destruction and perdition, in Jesus' name. Every plan of the devil to enslave my soul; be met with stiff resistance by the Holy Ghost, in Jesus' name.
2. In any way I have erred from the truth, Father , correct me with love and bring me back to faith, in Jesus' name. Any spirit of the world working to derail my salvation, I rebuke you, in Jesus' name.
3. O God, give me the grace to be contented with what you have given to me, in Jesus' name. Save me from greed, avarice and vain glory, in Jesus' name.
