THEME: THE MEASURE YOU GIVE IS THE MEASURE YOU WILL RECEIVE

TEXT: Genesis 8:22, Proverbs 11:25

MEMORY VERSE: "Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again." (Luke6:38)

Message:
Giving is ordained by God and He gave us an example of giving by giving us His only begotten Son Jesus Christ. So, if you give it shall be given to you. Many people have given and they have reaped bountifully. On the other hand, those that do not give cannot reap anything. Whoever does not sow seeds in the ground does not go to harvest during the period of harvest. Therefore, if you want to receive or reap as the case may be, you must first give. It is a natural law which even unbelievers have practiced and exploited the advantages.

So, what is that you have given - your time, money, energy and substances? Or are you still playing gamble by pledging and not redeeming. Some people pledge though they have no money. Their mindset is that if they pledge ten thousand naira for example, God will give them like one hundred thousand and then they will go ahead and give the ten thousand they pledged and that way, make a profit of ninety thousand naira. God does not work that way. You must give without a conscious expectation of return and God who sees in secret will reward you abundantly.

Sing a few praise/worship songs. Make a thanksgiving prayer and ask God for mercies and the forgiveness of sins. Thereafter, take the following prayer points.

Prayer Points:
1. Every spirit of stinginess and tight-fistedness operating in my life, catch fire, in Jesus' name.

2. O God my Father, give me the mind to give, in Jesus' name.
