TOPIC: THE MONTH OF FRUITFULNESS AND MULTIPLICATION - PART 3
TEXT: GENESIS 1:26:28; EXODUS 1:7;EXODUS 19:5-6; LUKE 6:38
INTRODUCTION TO MESSAGE:
So far in this study {Part 1 & 2}, We have seen that it is only through becoming children of God, living right and through serving and giving that we can be made fruitful and multiplied by God. So having known the truth, let us endeavour to abide in it for our own good {John 8:32; Romans 2:13; John 13:17; James 1:22-25}
Tonight, we shall discuss another important point that makes for fruitfulness and multiplication, and also expand more on "giving" because of it's role on our subject matter {Galatian 6:7,9-10; Proverb 11:25-26; Luke 6:38; 2nd Corinthians 9:6-10}.
For more understanding of this message, we shall consider the following points;
POINT 1: OBEDIENCE AND GIVING
Obedience is the foremost thing God requires from us in our relationship with Him, consider the cases of Adam and Eve, Abraham and the Israelites as a whole. Obedience has been God's principle of fruitfulness and multiplication from the time of old till today and whosoever wants to be fruitful and multiply must obey God in all things, like Abraham and our Lord Jesus Christ {Exodus 19:5-6; Deuteronomy 7:12-16; Deuteronomy 28:1-14; Genesis 12:1-4; Genesis 22:1-3;15-18; John 8:29}. We should not be like Adam and Eve, Nadab and Abihu, Saul, Uzziah, etc who disobeyed God in one area or the other {Genesis 3:1-6; Genesis 3:24; Romans 5:12; 2nd Samuel 6:6-7; Number 20:8; Number 20:11-12; Number 4:15}.
Examples abound of those who got their blessings of fruitfulness and multiplication in the bible through giving {John 6:1-13; Luke 5:1-7; John 4:7-10; 1st Kings 3:1-5; Acts 10:1-5}. All these people were fruitful, multiplied and became source of blessing to those around them, and as we become doers of God's word by giving, we shall be fruitful and multiply in Jesus' Name.
POINT 2: OUR APPLICATION AND THE BENEFITS
God requires obedience from us in the area of giving our lives to Him, living right, serving and giving to Him, loving, fearing and worshipping Him with all our hearts and all we do. He shall bless and multiply us spiritually, physically, materially, academically, financially and otherwise {Deuteronomy 10:12; Exodus: 15:26-27; Exodus 23:25-27; Exodus 19:5-6}.
As we begin to obey God, do all we have been taught and give without reservation from now on, we shall be fruitful and multiply and every one of us shall be a blessing to all around us in Jesus' Name!
CONCLUSION:
For those who are sinners and backsliders, all you need to do is to obey and give your lives to God, confess and repent of your sins and accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal Saviour {Romans 3:23}.
Begin to give towards the work of God and to the needy or less privileged as you have been taught tonight and the Lord will surely command His blessings of fruitfulness and multiplication upon you in Jesus' Name {John 14:6; Mathew 11:28; Romans 6:23; John 10:10b; Romans 10:13; John 8:36; 2nd Corinthians 5:17; Mathew 6:33}.
