THE CHOSEN DAILY DEVOTIONAL...

THEME: GOD HAS NOT CHANGED
TEXT: 1 Sam. 17:34-37
34 And David said unto Saul, Thy servant kept his father's sheep, and there came a lion, and a bear, and took a lamb out of the flock:
35 And I went out after him, and smote him, and delivered it out of his mouth:and when he arose against me, I caught him by his beard, and smote him, and slew him.
36 Thy servant slew both the lion and the bear:and this uncircumcised Philistine shall be as one of them, seeing he hath defied the armies of the living God.
37 David said moreover, The Lord that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine. And Saul said unto David, Go, and the Lord be with thee.

MEMORY VERSE:
For I am the Lord, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed. Mal. 3:6
MESSAGE:
Welcome to today's devotional as we see the power in recognizing who God is and what He can do - that is radical faith. David, a young man from the bush where he kept the farm animals of his father, was at the war front to deliver a message his father sent him to deliver to the brothers.
He arrived there to see the army of Israel hiding and Goliath, the leader of the Philistine army roaring and Challenging the army of the people of God. He decided to challenge Goliath.
What motivated the radical application of faith was mainly that David recognized who God is and what He is able to do. He also recognized and believed that God cannot change, especially when it comes to intervening in the challenges that confront His people. You can see that in the past, David was confronted with huge dangers - lion and bear. These are two dangerous animals that kill human beings and animals. He was able to kill these animals when they came to attack his flock.
When David saw Goliath, he is superior to the Philistine whom He called the uncircumcized, meaning that the covenant between God and the Isrealites did not exist among the Philistine. He also believed that because of this covenant, God is able to deliver him out of any trouble. He therefore used his past experience to strengthen himself and put his faith to work. That is how it should be.
What is that problem that stands before you like Goliath? Is there no incident in the past you can use to buttress the power of God? Think back; there must be occasions teenage years, youth and adult-hood when God has intervened to show He is God. Use that experience to declare victory for yourself in advance over that matter. I can see 5,000 users of this devotional guide worldwide celebrating victory over a lingering matter after today's devotional.

LET'S PRAY:

Almighty God, I come unto you in the name of Jesus. Father I confess that I am a sinner. All my sins I confess to you. I am very sorry for all my sins.
Lord I promise you that from today I will never continue in them anymore.
I believe that Jesus Christ died and rose again on the third day for my justification. Almighty God, use the blood of Jesus to wash my sins away. Lord Jesus, come into my heart, be my Lord and Personal Savior.
I surrender my life to you.
Cancel my name from the book of death and give me grace to make Heaven.
